Ok, the hall charges $54 per person. We are expecting 85 people. The ceremony site fee is $500. The tax in Nassau is 8.75% (I think that is correct.) The gratuity is 18%.

5090 * .0875= 445.38
5090 * .18 = 916.20

Are you paying both tax and gratuity at both the hall and the ceremony site?

54 x 85 = 4590


4590 x .18 = 826.20


gratuity should not be taxed - and it should be based on food costs only


4590 + 500 = 5090


5090 x 1.0875 = 5535.38


5535.38 + 826.20 = 6361.58


I would ask them to send you a breakdown and total of the costs so there are no surprises when you get there, and any discrepancies or misunderstandings can be resolved ahead of time.
