Okay, so I get this email from a recruiter that found my resume online:

Farrah,

I came across your resume and I am very interested in speaking with
you. You
have a very impressive scholastic and business background. We have some
open
positions that look like they may be a good fit for you based on your
resume. Please send your resume in MS Word and call me when you get a
chance.
 

I called him today to discuss the types of roles he had available, etc.  He then asks me if I am still at my current job.  Ummmm yeah, that is why it is at the top of my resume and says 9/2002 to Present.  He then goes on to tell me that his firm has placed people in our NY and WC offices and even though we do not use them here in Chicago it may be a conflict of interest.  What?!  He waited to tell me that after we set up another time to talk?!  The guy saw my resume and saw where I work and then made a conscious decision to contact ME!  Anyway, he said that he is going to make sure it won't cause a problem and let me know.  We were already supposed to have a call at 5:30 today though which means I can not go to the gym.  Rather than commit to cancelling my plans I sent him this:

Hello again XXXX,
Thank you for speaking with me earlier.  I just wanted
to let you know that upon speaking to your colleagues
if you feel that representing me would be a conflict
of interest feel free to shoot me an email and let me
know.  I was going to cancel plans that I had after
work this evening to call you and I would hate to do
that if you would be unable to work with me.  Have a
wonderful afternoon.

My bf works for a recruiting firm and when I told him about that he was totally annoyed.  The only reason that I am even considering talking to this guy any further is because he has a really great opportunity that he thinks I am a great fit for.  Seriously though, do your homework first before you contact people - jackass!!
