I wanna join but I'm taking a stupide folklore and fantasy class this semester and its going to keep me busy. If anyone wants to read the first harry potter with me let me know. I'm just pissed I have to take a stupid class like this when I'm an accounting major!!!
lsu, you go ahead and read harry potter and i talk to you about it for hours... i think you'll love it. i think that's fun that you have to read that for class
i love harry potter. i'm a huge dork.

Thanks Tara. I don't think they have cliff notes out for it yet so I might be needing you!
I'll have to post what the rest of the reading list is for the semester. God I hate how I have to take this useless class. Stupid advisors!

I read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time for another book club and I didn't think it was a very good choice. I would reccommend it, but it wasn't ideal for a book club. I have also been wanting to read Reading Lolita in Tehran.
lsu, the HP movie is pretty close to the books, IMO. of course there are differences, but i think it's close. movies are easier than cliffs notes too. :)

I'm in! There are so many books that I need to read.
BTW LSU, I'm a crazy Harry Potter nut. (I've already pre-ordered book 6 and it isn't out until July.) If you have any questions lay them on me. Honestly though, the books are really easy to read and they really engulf you. I wasn't really interested in them at all until a guy at work bet me that if I read the first book I would be hooked. I completely lost that bet and finished the book in less than 3 days. The rest, as they say, is history:).

oh my gosh, i'm reading Reading Lolita in Tehran right now! i'm about halfway done and just started on friday--so far it's been a really fast read. so if you guys pick it, it would be so fab to discuss it w/ you!
I'm in for a book club for whatever we decide on and having whatever book read by the end of February as long as we decide on the books soon so I can get it from the library cause the librarain in me hates to buy a book!
OH BTW, Lsugirl, the first Harry Potter book is so good although the 3rd and 5th were my favorites thus far, I'm a Harry Potter fan too.
Depending on the book, some publishing houses put out discussion questions on their sites, or often times ALA (American Library Association) has questions on their website too. OR... from leading book group discussions at the library we can formulateour own questions.
We're bright women and I like using a bit of a format then seeing where the discussion goes from there. Everyone takes something different out of a book so it's up to everyone, I'm game for anything!
