I usually watch awards shows on mute while I listen to music or play on the internet because I hate the stupid banter and the acceptance speeches, unless someone that I'm interested in is on.
However, I remained alert so I could turn the volume up the minute Mick's category was announced. I am sooo soooo happy that his song won instead of that other dreck. Actually the Wyclef song seemed ok, but not only was Mick's song good but he was a really good match for the Alfie remake. And he looked dashing as usual.
Only watched until about 9:30 and then had to hit the sack. Of what I saw though, I thought Mariska Hargitay's acceptance speech was really heartfelt. The guy that won for Committed went on and on and on with his list of names, OMG! Also, Terri Hatcher's speech was a little TMI - she visited a town a little too far South of humble.

Oh yeah I saw Mariska Hargitay's speech too and I thought it was sweet when she talked about her mom. I didn't know until maybe last year that her mom was Jayne Mansfield.
-Jamie Foxx - of course, loved the moment he talked about his grandma -Hilary Swank - she seems so humble and genuine. The compliments that she paid to Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood were very classy and well deserved -Mark Cherry - creator of Desperate Housewives -Mick - the kid comment was pretty funny -Mariska Hargitay -Teri Hatcher - she seemed truly surprised and grateful and I was really impressed with her honesty
Other memorable moments
-Meryl Streep's comment to Natalie Portman - she is hilarious -Was it just me or was Annette Benning too cool, calm and collected for anyone else? She was like a flippin' robot up there!!
