Golden Globes - Presenters/Acceptance Speeches

Which presenters did you like the best and/or which acceptance speeches did you like the best?

For presenters:  Prince (nice surprise that he was there)

Jim Carrey - he is always so funny!!

Acceptance speeches:  Jamie Fox

Mick Jagger (he is ultimate cool - he is just so sexy for such an old man.  You had to have loved Mick's black high top sneakers w/ his outfit.

Robin Williams  (for the C.C. B. DeMille (?) Lifetime Award)

~ when he thanked his wife - she looked a little more than pissed at him?  Did anyone else notice that?

I loved that Prince was there! He rarely does stuff like that.

Mick and Dave were great and I thought it was so funny when Mick said they had too many kids between them to thank them all individually.

Jamie Foxx was adorable.

I usually watch awards shows on mute while I listen to music or play on the internet because I hate the stupid banter and the acceptance speeches, unless someone that I'm interested in is on.

However, I remained alert so I could turn the volume up the minute Mick's category was announced.  I am sooo soooo happy that his song won instead of that other dreck.  Actually the Wyclef song seemed ok, but not only was Mick's song good but he was a really good match for the Alfie remake.  And he looked dashing as usual.

Only watched until about 9:30 and then had to hit the sack.  Of what I saw though, I thought Mariska Hargitay's acceptance speech was really heartfelt.  The guy that won for Committed went on and on and on with his list of names, OMG!  Also, Terri Hatcher's speech was a little TMI - she visited a town a little too far South of humble.

Oh yeah I saw Mariska Hargitay's speech too and I thought it was sweet when she talked about her mom.  I didn't know until maybe last year that her mom was Jayne Mansfield.

My favorite acceptance speeches were:

-Jamie Foxx - of course, loved the moment he talked about his grandma
-Hilary Swank - she seems so humble and genuine.  The compliments that she paid to Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood were very classy and well deserved
-Mark Cherry - creator of Desperate Housewives
-Mick - the kid comment was pretty funny
-Mariska Hargitay
-Teri Hatcher - she seemed truly surprised and grateful and I was really impressed with her honesty

Other memorable moments

-Meryl Streep's comment to Natalie Portman - she is hilarious
-Was it just me or was Annette Benning too cool, calm and collected for anyone else?  She was like a flippin' robot up there!!
