I was good again. The bf and I made only one purchase - one we've been desperately needing since we moved into our apt. a year and a half ago: a dining room table!! No chairs yet but we're trying to take it slow since those suckers cost so damn much.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Yes it does seem to be getting easier. It's certainly been a lot easier than I expected which is good!

I am doing ok but I did break down. I bought a skirt on 75% off Wednesday (very bad I know) when I couldn't find a dress for Friday. But I did return 3 dresses I bought (2 Nordies & 1 from Foleys) so that was good. I walked around NO all day Saturday and managed to escape with only buying 1 dvd (of the play we went to) and some new mascara (a staple as the other one was out!). It was really hard though since every little boutique down there was having a sale but I restrained. The only clothing item I got was a shirt the bf bought me. Now must get him on spending money freeze.
The only thing I spent money on this weekend was part of my BF's birthday dinner. After that we went to the toy store and I wasn't really tempted by anything. It's kinda killing me because I noticed this week that there were sales everywhere, since BF and I were driving all over town for meetings. But in reality, it's not too bad, plus I'm throwing together new outfits and realizing I still have the tags on a few of the clothes I've bought recently.
Right now, I'm trying to get the ball rolling on school and trying to get internships, so it's almost like I don't have time to shop. I will probably end the hiatus around mid-February, since that's when the Barney's Warehouse sale starts out here and I've never been.
I am doing well. Groceries and a trip to Target for necessities. I went to The Container Store today and bought stuff for my new place, but I am allowed to buy things for my place that I need. I don't think anyone would call 3 magazine holders, skirt hangers and an under bed storage box fun purchases anyway, ha!! Oh, I also had to get a cable cord from Circuit City;)!

I still have bought nothing (at least clothing/accessory-wise). I have been keeping a list of things I NEED to buy in the next month or so (such as a wedding present for my friend, a dress for the wedding, a birthday present for my mom) and then when I think of buying something, I think of how expensive the things on that list are and how I am already going to have to charge some of them and then the idea of buying something new just isn't quite as appealing.
I did get my hair cut and eyebrows waxed and went out Friday and Saturday night. I also had to spend $800 on car repairs, unfortunately.
I'm holding out for my tax return. Hopefully I will have that mid-February.
No shopping for me this past weekend either. Just some groceries and coffee at Caribou and Starbucks. This coming weekend, I have to work two events (I do event planning), so won't have time to shop either. Yay! :)
I ordered the dark pink large star purse from the Gap because I adore it and I didn't want to risk it selling out before being marked down. I know the Gap is always good for a sale, but every time I've waited for something to go on sale there, it has sold out.
Anyway, that was my last purchase until around Valentine's Day. I'm going to visit my mom that week and I can't be on a shopping ban when I''m with her! My husband told me I should be banned until the end of March....I'm not sure I could handle that.
I was really bad. I guess because I've been living on a really tight budget for the past 2-3 weeks and suddenly I got money, I kind of exploded. I'm sort of embarrassed to even share all the stuff I bought, but suffice it to say that it totaled several hundred dollars.
I am returning two expensive items already, and when I receive the others I will make an executive decision about what I will keep.
Am I beyond saving? Is it too late to hop back on the bandwagon? I'm trying to be good, I just got excited with all the great discount codes and sales going on, and the sudden reappearance of cash in my life...and it doesn't help matters that I've discovered the Free People store within walking distance of my house.
