have you considered what you want to do as a career? sometimes it's better to start there and work backwards. if you love fashion you could work towards a career as a buyer or doing something in fashion pr. lots of stores (neimans, bloomies, macy's, saks) have executive training programs.

other than that i don't have that much specific advice for you. lots of people get a degree in one thing and end up in a totally different field. so you might just want to major in something you love and would be happy learning about. that's what i did.

If you're dead sure about Marketing as a career, look into majoring in it. Most business schools have a marketing emphasis.

Otherwise, I'd say communication is a versatile major that you could definitely apply towards your marketing jobs in the future. I'm majoring in communication and I've been able to get interviews for marketing internships.

But really, I think internships in marketing is way more important than what you major in, because they demonstrate that you have real-world experience.

To make yourself more marketable i would pair a marketing degree with one in finance or do fashion merchandising with business minor if possible. Be able to understand numbers is invaluable.
