Hey Joy! I saw your trip report/post on your last Orlando vacation. Mike and I are heading back down there in September and I can't wait.

Wedding is next July here in Houston. St. Anne's on Westheimer and then reception at the Natural Encounters building at the Zoo. I just finished uploading some more pictures in my photobucket account so I'll start piecing together a post either after the Astros game tonight or tomorrow afternoon when I get off of work.

I have a coworker that takes a cruise every Summer. She expressed a big aversion to Royal Carribean, but I can't remember what the reason was. I think it may have just been her overall impression, rather than a specific incident. I don't know, sorry i'm not much help.

I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise this past February. It was my first cruise, so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I had fun. It was a 5 night cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Georgetown, Grand Cayman. I went with a girlfriend. We swam with the dolphins and hiked Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica and went snuba diving in Grand Cayman. We liked our excursions a lot, but my favorite times were the days when we were at sea all day with nothing to do. It was so relaxing. The shows were a lot of fun each night and dinner in the dining room was always good. The crowd was mixed. Some older, some younger. Definitly not the party crowd for the most part. Our stateroom was big enough and very clean. We were on Enchantment of the Seas and it was a beautiful ship. No hidden costs, really. I just paid for my excursions and alcohol at the end. The drinks can really add up quick. We brought on a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Malibu Rum and then purchased an all you can drink soda card for $6 a day and made a lot of our own drinks. I bought a bottle of wine with dinner the second night. I only had a glass that night, so they saved it for me and brought it out the next night (think I had a few sips left by the third night =( ). Don't forget to figure in tips when budgeting too. By the end of 5 nights, I had quite a bit to tip.

Thanks! I've heard good things but nothing specific like its for a certain age group or anything.

We are going to do an 8 night Italy/Croatia/Greece/Turkey cruise. RCL is the only one that does that over there most others do more countries and longer cruises which are much more pricey-er. (sp?)

I've been on 5 RCL cruises, the latest being my honeymoon in March. I've only sailed in the Caribbean and Meaxico, so I don't know much about their overseas ships. I found that we had a lot of opportunity to enjoy our cruise the way we wanted to. We spent some days partying, other days we went to yoga and got spa treatments. What I enjoy most are all of the quiet corners you can find to sit and relax in on all of their ships. If you do decide to go, sign up for their Crown and Anchor Society which is a rewards program for repeat visitors. I've built up enough points for lower priced upgrades, priority boarding and disembarking, special reception party with the captain, and discounts for the casino, shopping, and bars.
