I have an a.m. flight to cancun for my mini vaca. What shall I wear? I have often been the first to decry travel "fashion" I see as too casual, but I/m not sure what will transition well from here to Mexico. No clue what I wore last time I went.
I am tempted - looking decent be damned! - to wear a little black velour juicy suit and yellow pumas. But I know that a) that look is so over; and b) it's way too casual.
Should I instead go for jeans, a fitted tee, and a cord blazer (maybe still the pumas)? All the shoes I packed to wear to mexico are either a) flip flops; b) tevas; c) Jimmy Choo sandals... so none of those will do for the plane. I want to wear the pumas (velcro closure, thin sole) in case I need them to go to the gym or something at my resort. Plus, they're awesome for getting through security.
Verdict? TIA. I'll check again in the a.m. until I leave at 8am.

I've taken flights from LA to NY or DC during the winter in the past. My comfy plane uniform that works for both climates is...
Juicy hoodie
t-shirt or tank top underneath
stretch jeans (so they give some)
sneakers
I would only wear a Juicy suit in it's whole velourness on a red-eye, since I prefer to sleep in my Juicy pants over jeans. Otherwise a comfy comfy pair of jeans should fit the bit perfectly. Your outfit sounds cute and put together but still casual.
yeah...i think i am going to say no to the juicy suit. i saw so many older frosted-haired women wearing these at the airport the last time i went on vacation. whole hoardes of them, obviously headed to tropical locales, standing on line together in various forms of sweat suits. granted i was also wearing terry sweatpants (american apparel) but i was also going on a 14 hour flight and i paired it with punkish red and black sneakers, a magenta wifebeater, and cool gray hoodie and a belted black jacket. so i tried to look somewhat fashionable and non-juicy.
unless the flight is really long (i've got no clue how long dc>cancun is), i would stay away from the full juicy suit. do you have stretch jeans? i tend to wear these cotton-stretch trouser style pants on flights because they look nice but are comfy.
the pumas sound perfect and if you think you'll be comfortable in the jeans go with that outfit! have a safe flight and a great vacation!!
