Aw D hugs to you!  I hope things get better for you soon at work.

As for the site, I still love it here. Everyone here is still so kind and down-to-earth.  Maybe we could do a "post-a-thon" to generate more action and energy but one way or another I'll still be here.

Not sure why anyone would be mad at you.  In fact, I have much respect for you with everything you have had on your plate and you have still managed to keep this running for all of us!  Keep your chin up-we love you and we love Stylethread!

That's me, one happy little piggy.

Regarding the vendor/client issues, you've done nothing wrong - imagine if you did! If you're anything like me, you'd be beating yourself up MORE if you had blown it. Also, considering the economy, it's entirely possible the client is looking for any excuse to get out of their contract.

DITTO! to what all the other gir's said.  I've got two chillin's now, am only working part-time, and we just finished our pool.  All that makes for dust bunnies in the wallet!  I'm trying to post what I do buy, but it's mostly from discount chains now and I can never find pictures!

As for the forum itself, I LOVE this place.  I just don't alway's have time to respond anymore.  I'm supremely grateful that with everything you've gone through you still see this place as a priority in your life.  Thank so much for giving me an outlet - separate from poopy diaper's, temper tantrums, and crabby people.

I'm sorry about all that D :( I know I don't really post anymore either (I lurk more than anything).......You didn't do anything to offend me! I just don't feel I can contribute much to the site right now (mostly because of financial stuff), so I just don't really post. I still love the site though :)

Just echoing what everyone else said. I'm sorry everything is so sucky, bad weeks are the pits because you feel like there's no end - not just like a bad day that can be cured by some heavy-duty sleeping.

I don't think I've slowed down my posting personally, but I'm also not getting married or having kids like so many people on here. Plus, my office hasn't figured out that I waste time on here yet so I can still check in during the day smile.gif I do remember when I first joined (I think it's been almost a couple years, now), the whole first page of the "shopping" section would be from one day. Sometimes you'd have to go to page 2 of the topics to see all the day's posts. and now there can be a week's worth at a time up there. I do miss that, but I know everyone is shopping less and very busy.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time with things. With respect to the forum, I don't think the slow traffic has anything to do with you offending people either. I'm in contact with a number of former regular posters and for the most part I think they don't have time to post anymore due to major life changes but I know some other reasons have been mentioned as well. And while I'm sure the economy is affecting people's shopping habits it seems to me like there used to be more of an interest and focus here on fashion in general (e.g. Fashion Week shows, debates about designers, etc.) rather than just on shopping. Maybe you could do some sort of focus group or anonymous polling to see what people think.

You are all very sweet. Thank you for the kind words.

CarrieS - I was actually thinking of you with the flooding - hope everything is ok with you and your family.

I agree about the decrease in fashion posts.  That's why I try to post there more than anything else.  I too miss the designer collection posts -- the people who were good at doing that have not been around as much.  I'll try to step that up a notch and hope others join in...

D: My family is all fine smile.gif I live in Ames, and on May 30 we had some major flooding, and then 2 weeks later we had some minor flooding again. Compared to the rest of the state, we're pretty dry though, lol.....There's not even standing water here anymore.

(((HUGS))) I hope you feel better about things. I'll try to post some more.
My only request is for a "designer's corner" to share handcrafted dress and jewelry ideas.

D I'm sorry. This sounds awful!

Don't think I'm avoiding posting because of you. It's a different group on here than the people I remember, with a couple exceptions, so I'm less connected. I'm also both more busy and more concerned about what I say online. I also just don't shop the way I used to. DC is a really conservative town, and if you don't wear the uniform, you'll pay in small ways. I'm all about JCrew now, and a lot of black, which I always hated before. (Blue makes you look like an intern or Senate Aide, grey is too old, any other color in a suit is just wrong - except maybe khaki in the summer). So I just don't have anything to talk about, clothes-wise.

You had some great ideas with the Mama forum and the wedding posts, too. And although my boyfriend and I probably will end up there in a couple years or so, I'm just not there either.

Hang in there and try not to feel like other people's incompetence is a personal attack. Also, be careful not to accept blame, if you can. There's a difference between saying, "It's unfortunate this happened," and letting the client walk all over you. DC can be a sexist town, and I've seen many examples of a girl stepping up and being responsible, and getting screwed for it because everyone else leaves her hanging. Maybe try to pretend you're a guy. "Sucks it happened, not my fault, but I'm your go-to-guy to get it fixed after these knuckleheads have messed it up..."

buck up little camper!  venting feels good and we're all here for ya :)  have some wine.  that's my solution to most things ;)

i just went to NY and saw a bunch of musicals and here are some lyrics that i may sing to you if i were around...

this came from spamalot

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems johnny rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...
