I wasn't crazy about the ideas for spring pictured in Jan Lucky. The long skirts weren't bad but I didn't like the Mexican blouses and such. I've never been able to pull off hippie-style.
So what do WE (who are far more fashionable than the Lucky girls, anyway) think will be hot for spring?
unfortunately (since you're not crazy about it) i think the hippie/boho/olsen style is going to be huge for spring, so you might not be able to escape it. (and i'm kind of sad b/c for a second i was excited about it, but now i'm just like this look is going to be so overdone). other than that i can't think of any specific look that's going to be super huge for spring. i think the lady like looks of the fall are going to continue to be strong for the spring, but i think the look is going to be much cleaner and less fussy (i.e. no brooches, bows, excess ornamentation) i also think that wedge sandals are going to be big. (imo now is a good time to buy them since they've been slowly building momentum and in a year from now will be uber-trendy). that's what comes to mind immediately, i'll try and think of some more and post them later, along with pictures.
I'll take a stab at this. I agree that the boho thing will be all over this spring, but I'm still excited for it because a lot of the styles I've been seeing will look good on my body type. It also seems fresh to me and coincides with some of my favorite pieces. I'm over the lady like look - it's hard for me to pull off without looking prissy. Also, I think that not everything will be over the top hippie - maybe you could take advantage of the pretty flowy fabrics that will be big and pair them with harder edged stuff, so you won't be looking like a flower child.
I'm guessing circle skirts will be big, the round toe thing will continue, wedge everything, and the long cami under cardigan/blazer look. i think as with every spring, the preppy look and the lady like look will also be around.
I think you will have a lot to choose from that doesn't scream boho.
There is this grecian trend popping up and I've seen it mentioned in several magazines. I think its a simpler alternative to boho while still being (ethnic?).
Other than that...Safari and baggy pants are supposed to be big on higher end lines. Although those are two trends I will not be picking up.
