Princeton Review vs. Kaplan?
Permalink Closed

I am starting to prepare to study for my GRE and I can't decide which classroom course I should go with: Kaplan or Princeton Review.  Does anyone have any experience with either of them that could give me some insight?  They both cost the same amount of money and work will reimburse me so money is not an issue. TIA!!

I've always done Princeton Review courses at home and done well. I don't have any experience with Kaplan.

I took the GRE and I taught myself using the Princeton Review software and book.  I did really well on the test.  I think that Princeton Review and Kaplan use similar learning strategies so I think either one is good.  Also, EPS (the testing center that administers the GRE) will send you some study materials a month (I think?) before your test date.  Those are also good.  If you are an independent learner, I suggest that you skip the pricey Princeton Review or Kaplan courses and just buy their books.  I took a course that was offered through my college and was subsidized by the college (it wasn't Princeton Review or Kaplan, I forget what it was) for the GRE and it drove me nuts because I felt like everyone was holding me up with their stupid questions.  I didn't even feel like we ever got to the things I really wanted to study.  I fared much better studying on my own with the books and especially the CD's.
