I'm only listing people I met or were a few of feet away from (not a concert or event gathering)
In the Lansing City Airport:
Freddy Fender
I used to put together the President's Environmental Youth Awards Dinner in Washington, DC (sponsored by A&P) and arranged to have this guy speak (because of his position on environmental issues) - met him twice:
John Kerry
Near Circular Quay in Sydney, Australia:
Portia DeRossi
Stood outside his hotel entrance after a concert - he looked me in the eye and waved at me from the elevator - my jaw dropped - totally star struck...:
Robert Plant
A friend of mine is their tour manager:
The Cowboy Junkies
Met him over xmas in Pittsburgh (host of Street Smarts):
Frank Nicotero
The following in Amsterdam when they were filming Oceans 12:
Brad Pitt
Matt Damon
George Clooney
West side - Manhattan:
Roseanna Arquette
Billy Baldwin
Moscow Bureau Chief for NPR and on-air personality - went to high school with him:
Lawrence Sheets
hmmm... that's all I can think of off the top of my head...
thought of more...
Steve Beadle - Captain of the MSU hockey team when they won the NCAA championship... dated him for quite a while... dumb as a box of rocks but a fun guy :)
various UofM football and hockey players in my classes
Several Detroit Red Wings players... Dominick Hocek, Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan - have run into these people several times in local bars and restaurants.
Local Detroit people seen in traffic - Aretha Franklin, Tim Allen
Spent several minutes talking to Leigh Keno at the Antiques Roadshow taping in Cleveland (quite the flirt)
hmmm... there's gotta be more that I can't think of right now...

this is a fun one! i love reading everyone's, especially those of u who live in places not too "celeb-heavy". living in LA and having worked at a celeb friendly restaurant for almost 2 yrs, i've seen lots, i'll tell u the ones i have stories about:
all of incubus & 311 (i was a groupie & even was invited to the house incubus was recording "morning view" at- the one they showed on mtv's cribs)
susan sarandon, tim robbins & their kids @ the restaurant (i totally snubbed them cuz it was my first time working lunch & i wasn't paying attention & seated them at a really crappy table. they asked to be seated at the back table (a place we usu. reserved for VIPs) and i took them to a table nearby cuz i still didn't realize they WERE VIPs & then a server bumped me & said it was OK for them to sit wherever & at that moment i looked up & felt like a huge idiot when i realized who they were!
katie holmes & chris klein @ the restaurant (they are the sweetest people, so appreciative & not expecting to be treated like celebrities-and both very gorgeous, are they still together?)
mario lopez @ white lotus-LA club (it was when he was married to ali landry but i didn't know it & proceeded to flirt w/ him shamelessly & even gave him my #, which he ASKED for- what a jerk!! when me & my friends got to the car & they told me he was married i was appalled, one of them even knew a girl that had slept w/ him! now we know ali wasn't lying when she said he cheated!!)
i guess those are all the ones worth mentioning!
ETA: forgot, i've hung out w/ Brandon Call from Step by Step in Vegas (he's my cousin's best friend so i've seen him quite a few times) & also Mel Gibson was the key note speaker at my college graduation (Catholic college, go figure!).
I haven't seen many but I was able to do all ever need to in my life... hang out with my love of life LL Cool J (not once but twice).
I have also seen DMX and the guy from Step by Step( I think his name was Cody on the show). I helped them out at the Disneyland Hotel when I used to work there.
hmmm... oh yeah does Big Boy, Fuzzy, and Liz from Power 106 count?
Oh and I saw I Michael Anthony (I think that's his name-the older guy that is "sick and tired of being sick and tired")
I think that's all, I'm pretty bad at recognizing people. I used to help people at Disneyland and later find out that they were someone - who knew???

HA HA HA....DMX just moved near where I teach. My students tried to interview him, but he's in jail . I had to search for wire images of him all day today at work, and I can't get "Where da hood at?" out of my head

i've seen some random celebrities, but i actually met they might be giants, the kids in the hall, and morrissey in high school. a year and a half ago i talked to george clooney at a bar here in DC while he was filming K street. he walked in with a group of people and i HAD to go up and talk to him. he was smaller than i imagined. and had a large head. a few days later E! online mentioned some starstruck girls coming up to him at a local bar... that was me and my friends. yikes. he was really friendly though!
Okay my favorite celeb sighting was Nicholas Cage in a Starbucks in South beach
Last year was at the Delano 2 years ago for NY and all of NYSNC was there
Just saw Sela Ward at O'Hare airport 2 weeks ago, holy not aging well at all
Katie Holmes and Chris Klein shopping on Michigan Ave, she is really tall and gorgeous in person, not akward like she appears on film
Hing out with Billy Corgan one night, had no clue who he was, when he told me he was a musician I told him "good luck with that, it's a hard business to get into" what an ass I was
Dennis Rodman
Not sure if you consider them stars but I used to date Lawrence Hilton Jacobs aka Freddy Boom Boom Washington from Welcome Back Kotter ( I was going through an older man phase)
Also had a brief fling with "Steve" aka Jerry Springers body guard. He is so gross now that I think about it.
Ice Tea having lunch at the table next to us at Monty's in South Beach
Beyonce but only because she lives in our building of our vacation place in South Beach and hope to see J Lo one day since she bought the Penthouse in the Icon which is our second place we've bought out there.
Hmm I think that's it.

I'm thinking balls are to men what purses are to women. It's just a little bag, but we feel naked in public without it.
Carrie Bradshaw
Ray Allen, NBA Player, on my college campus shooting a movie "He Got Game"
Spike Lee, on my college campus shooting a movie "He Got Game"
Swizz Beats, at an auto show in Atlantic City
Allen Payne, that guy from Jason's Lyric, in South Beach, took a picture with him and in a drunken moment, I grabbed his ample booty, and it was nice!!
Rick Fox, the former Mr. Vanessa Williams and NBA player, on my college campus shooting a movie "He Got Game"
Method Man and the RZA, at a club in NC
Since I went to college in near Duke and UNC, I met many of the guys that played on UNC or Duke Basketball teams between 1997 and 2000, that went on the become NBA players like Jason Williams, Shane Battier(total jerks IRL), Vince Carter, Brendan Haywood (both hotties IRL).
Also Tim Duncan, NBA player, at a party at Wake Forest, he's a total hottie and sweetheart IRL.
God I need to get out more. The only one I can think of is:
Ethan Embry (The lead guy from Can't Hardly Wait with Jennifer Love Hewitt, he was also in a couple other movies)
He was filming a movie in my town and was in a bar that most of the young people here frequent. So I was dared to go say hi.
I walked up to him and go "I am going to shamelessly introduce myself" and I sat down and we had a beer together. He was really nice. Unexpectedly, he went home with some other slutty girl from town took him home. I guess he really is a typical actor.
Oh yeah. Danny glover was on the train sitting behind me when I was going home to Philly from DC on business.
Luke and Owen Wilson at a Willie Nelson/Bob Dylan Concert in Oklahoma City...went to the concession stand with Luke....or near Luke...we were totally in the same air space...like practically kissing...or maybe not...but definitely standing next to each other...haha
Penelope Cruz in Dolce and Gabanna on Rodeo Drive (My boyfriend at the time actually backed into her and was literally speechless...i've never laughed so hard in my life!)
Julianna Margulise (sp?) Chick from ER
Stephen Kojokauro (sp?) almost hit me with his car
Dwight Yokum in a boot shop in Beverly Hills
Mike "The Miz" from The Real World
Rainn Wilson gave me a Red Bull in NYC
Jenna Wilson
Angela Kinsey
Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak from The Office too...they loved my camera and talked to me for about 5 minutes about it and answered some questions about The Office...they were Great...and Mindy was BEAUTIFUL in person (as were Jenna and Angela)
Kelsey Grammar
Debra Messing
Lori Laughlin
Matthew Perry and guy who was on West Wing and Studio 60 (Bradford?)
John Corbett in Saks

It's pronounced "Johnny," like the boys name....but spelled like an Indian Zuchini.
It's sad...I live in California and I've only had two celebrity sightings:
Diane Keaton - she was crossing the street, and I was crossing the other way. She looks exactly the same in person.
Robert Downey Jr - Pre-IronMan hotness. He was filming a movie in Venice Beach, and I walked by as they were shooting one of the scenes. He was maybe 5 feet away. I wish I could run into him again. I totally fell in love after watching IronMan.
Alot of the late 80's early 90's hairbands, (when I was an underage groupie :) ) most of them many of you probably would even remember, but Jon Bon Jovi was the most famous one we met back then. A few of the Motley Crue guys, Tommy Lee, (who is a TOTAL sweetheart), and Nikki Sixx, (my absolute favorite).
Chris Cornell from Audioslave and Soundgarden, back in his Soundgarden days. He was REALLY drunk!
Maroon 5, the whole band. They are really cool, nice guys.
Dave Navarro, he is a sorry sack of crap. SO rude and strange!
Johnny Damon from the Yankees, (really nice).
Chelsea Handler at a book signing, so funny.
Mark Consuelos, (Kelly Ripa's hubby, SO HOT, little but so hot!)
Charles Barkley, one of my favorite celebs. He has a great personality.
Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts when we were extras on GMA. Oh and Emeril was there also. They were all great!
Joey Fatone from N'Sync at DisneyWorld. He was very nice and friendly.
Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child. She is TINY and very sweet.
Luke and Owen Wilson in Maui a few years back during the Maui film festival. They were rude and stupid when I went with a friend to try to speak to them. We were rude back ;) I also saw Jake Gyllenhaal there. He was standing in the lobby talking to someone late one night. I was waiting for a friend and when I saw him I did a double take. He smiled really big when I looked at him the second time and seemed like a nice guy, but after the whole Wilson thing I was over speaking to anyone remotely involved with Hollywood.
Chris Farley, not long before he died. He looked very high.
Lenny Kravitz. He is a cool dude.
I know I am forgetting some, but this is what I can think of now.
I know I'll forget a bunch since I grew up in SoCal.
Not counting sporting events, concerts, and tv tapings:
- Justin Timberlake and Alyssa Milano in Sherman Oaks when they were together - Gerdard Depardue (i know i spelled it wrong) eating at Pick Up Sticks - Michael Jackson at the NY NY hotel in Las Vegas, where I said "Hi" - Some basketball player (i forgot) - LL Cool J in NYC Times Square - Dog the Bounty Hunter in Hawaii airport - Lionel Richie & wife on our plane coming home from Hawaii - Britney, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Hayden Pannettiere, Lucy Liu, and Amy Smart all within feet of us at the Madonna concert (see my FB pics! hehe) - Antonio Sabato Jr. at my local mall when I was in Jr. High - he basically rescued me from a mob of screaming older women who almost trampled me.
OMG and I can't even think anymore. Used to work at Glendale Galleria and see tons of celebs but now my mind is blank.
OK, this was back in the 1960s when I was in high school. Our class would take a bus trip to Stratford Ontario and see a performance of whatever Shakespeare play we were studying that year. So the one year it was Antony and Cleopatra. On the bus trip to Stratford, there were two boys in our class who were super-popular and my friends and I were dying to get a kind word from them...Anyway we got to the playhouse and our teacher knew someone who was in the props department and she arranged for us to have a little tour backstage before the performance. My two girl-friends and I got separated and who should we meet but Christopher Plummer, who played Antony. He was I would say maybe in his thirties at that time, and he was totally gorgeous -- you probably remember him as the father in Sound of Music, but trust me, when he was young he was soooooooooo hot. So he says What are you young ladies doing back here? and we incoherently tried to explain. He says How would you like to keep me company while I get ready? GASP. So he takes us to his dressing room which is tiny and clears away the rubble so we have somewhere to sit and proceeds to put on his makeup for the show. He talked away the whole time, I think he said that he liked Chinese food, but I can't really remember, we just sat there with our mouths hanging open. He asked where our seats were for the performance and told us that he would make sure to look at us and give us a little sign (he raised his sword in our direction). God. On the bus ride home, those lame high school boys were sooooooooooo beneath our notice.
