Weekend NON Shopping
Permalink Closed

Just thought I'd check in with the shopping hiatus gals.  I'm glad to report that I was very good this weekend - my best friend was visiting from out of town and we went shopping all day Saturday and I didn't buy anything, except one Starbucks java chip frappucino (and that was with a giftcard, so doesn't even count!).

Not to say that I wasn't severely tempted several times.  Once, at Gap when I tried on a pair of cute $16.99 jeans.  A second time at Marshall's when I found a great brown leather tote bag, perfect for lugging things to and from work.  And then the third time, and this is the one that is going to kill me, I found a fabulous black vintage-looking Via Spiga bag at TJ Maxx.  I don't know how to describe it except to say that it was beautiful and very Chanel/LV.  It will haunt me through these next 8 weeks but I had to stay strong.  Unfortunately the TJ Maxx I was at is closing soon so I don't think the bag will around in March when I will shopping again .  I think it's really hitting me how tough this hiatus will be !!

How did everyone else do?

Day number 9 and still going strong.  I did hit Target, but I bought essentials: face soap, cotton, salsa (it's the only place that I can find my fave brand), tuna, peanut butter, and ketchup.

9 days down - 81 to go.  Keep it up ladies!!

I wasn't too good, but I don't really think I was bad either. I posed my buys in the Weekend Shopping topic, and besides the tights, my BF and brother were the ones who purchases the stuff. I also bought a Starbucks Tall Caramel Light Frappucino but that was with GC.

Now I'm back...really.

Other than some groceries & a few magazines, nothing.

I caved last week & scored 3 vintage sweaters for $8, a massive $5 thrift store haul (BN Mary Jane flats, vintage scarf, vintage sunglasses, vintage silver clutch, 1 Lauren sweater, 1 long-sleeved polo & a vintage Levi's teal cord jacket), BR boots (sale) & clearance bags @ Nordstrom Rack that will go back.

Please help me be strong.  I fell off the wagon, but am trying to discipline myself.

I am still going strong.  I almost caved at Anthropologie.  I tried a bunch of things on and had come out of the dressing room to find a shirt that looked good with one of the skirts I picked out and I was walking around.  Suddenly, I just felt disgusted with myself and took a quick look around and put all my stuff on the closest rack and went home (I know all the retail girls on here are going to hate me for that.  I know it's annoying, but I had to get out of there).

So, I did not buy one thing.  I actually had planned to buy a shirt at Anthro to go out last night, but I didn't even buy that.  Yay for me!

OMG this is so hard!!! I went to the mall to try to find a dress to wear to the play I'm going to on Friday (I'm allowing myself this one purchase) and I couldn't find anything to wear.  I made the mistake of trying on a cute gray skirt and a few other things but stopped myself before buying but now I can't stop thinking about them!!!  They were all sale items and great deals - buffalo gray skirt $21, laundry shirt $30, kenneth cole shirt $15!  It is so upsetting but I keep losing weight so I don't need to buy stuff that won't fit next month (or so I keep telling myself).

Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling.  Keep up the good work girls and keep me on the bandwagon!

I bought nothing, but partly because I literally have no money to buy it with.  Actually, no, that's not true, I bought a pair of Kors wedges on ebay but I sold the ones I had that were too small for a big chunk of change, so it sort of doesn't count.  It was a calculated purchase and no money is being lost in the transaction b/c it's sort of an exchange.  But I am surfing my favorite shopping sites online like there's no tomorrow and it's really hard!  All of a sudden I am seeing tons of stuff I want.  I'm trying to stay strong.  Keep it up, guys.
