from a drugstore brand blush (usually revlon or neutrogena) to a better quality one. What do you recommend? And also is NARS blush in Orgasm really all that? I'm kinda clueless when it comes to makeup but I'm trying to update my look cuz everyone tells me I look really young (surprise: I'm 27!!) lol. Thanks for the help.

I LOVE my Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush. It stays on forever and it comes in a huge tube that will last forever. You can also put it on very sheer or layer on a lot. It is a gel blush, so you get a dewy result.

NARS Orgasm IMO is really all that. Although it cn take a bit of getting used to. I like it because it shows up well on my complexion and I just look healthier and glowier with it. I've tried tons of drugstore and higher-end blushes (everything from Maybelline to Dior) and I've never had nearly as good a result with them as I've had with Orgasm.

I will note that there's a bit of shimmer in the blush, so some people don't like it for that reason. You should try to get to a Sephora and have a makeup artists do your face.

Some people can't wear Orgasm because they have too much pink in their complexions. Then the MA will usually recommend Deep Throat. Other people can't wear it because their skin is too dark. I think the MA will recommend either Sin or Gina for that (I can't remember). I asked once what percentge of people can't do Orgasm, and they told me like 15%.

Nars Orgasm is hit or miss.  I like it, but it depends on your coloring.  Definitely get a makeover first before taking the plunge.

Personally, I like Armani Sheer Blush #2, but it's quite pricey.  If you have access to Sue Devitt, check out her stuff.  Los Angeles, Vanuatu & Koh Samui are all quite pretty--but YMMV depending on your skin tone.

Good luck.

I highly recommend both Tarte cheek stain in Flush and Nars Orgasm.  I used to use drugstore brands as well and then bought both of these to try out for my wedding makeup.   I have been a convert ever since.  Tarte is a bit pricey (like $26 at Sephora) but it lasts forever, so it's really worth it.  Like CarrieS said, it really does stay on forever.  I tend to use Tarte more on a daily basis but Nars Orgasm is great too if you're more partial to a powder blush.

I am one of those that can't wear orgasm--i have olive complexion and I just can't tell that I have anything on when I put it on.  My sister has it and it does look great on her.  I do own another Nars blush and I have to say that I'm not thrilled about the consistency.  Sometimes I feel like the pigment doesn't transfer well onto my brush.  I recently started using Hard Candy's liquid blush and I really do love it.  I was hesitant about using liquid at first but I love that it blends so well.

I haven't tried Orgasm, but I am a really big fan of BeneTint Stain by Benefit.

I use Dandelion by BeneFit and I love it...it's better for lighter complexions, though.

IMO, higher-end blush is worth the $$$. The colors are more true, the staying power is better, and the powder is finer.

My sis had Nars Orgasm and it doens't really show up on my skin and I think that I am pretty pale. I swear by Lola Creme Blush in Marseilles.

I totally agree with halleybird-- high-end blush is so much nicer. I use NARS Orgasm and it works great with my pale pale skin, but you really should try different kinds to see what is best for you.

I use Benefit Dandelion and I love it. You'll find that once you try a high end blush, it's really hard to go back the drugstore kind. I've tested Nars Orgasm, but I've never actually 'worn' it, so I can't help much with that one. But as for all high end blushes in general, the texture is different, and is soo much nicer to wear. You just have to decide if you want a power, gel, stain, or something else...all depending on your complexion and coloring.

I use the nars Orgasm and I love it...I have very pale skin and it gives me a great flush of color and a small bit of shimmer
