Just have to let you ladies know how psyched I am about Laura Mercier foundation, cover-up and powder. I went to the Tysons II Nieman's over the holiday season and for the first time had my makeup done by the ladies in the department stores (I have had a makeup lesson, but that was different since it wasn't at a department store). I hated my muttled and somewhat acne burdened complexion and that made me too embarressed to ever have someone look at my face without makeup, so I have worn drugstore makeup my whole life convincing myself there wasn't a difference.
So my skin has been clear for months, but I have a minor melasma problem which has REALLY been annoying me; no matter what I used you could still see it through my makeup. This lady named Shiva did my makeover. I cannot believe how well the makeup covered my flaws yet looked so light. I mean I didn't look like I had on a ton of makeup. I bought the foundation (oil-free), sponge, cover up for eyes (I never even used that before but OMG what a difference - it covered all my tiny wrinkles!), blemish cover up, a few brushes, and then some cake liner and brush just because she did such an amazing job of highlighting my eyes without making it look like I was even wearing liner.
If you live in the area you all should go there and get Shiva to give you a makeover. She did a fantastic job; she obviously noted that I like a natural pinkish look to my make up and didn't do anything too wild for my tastes. She is fantastic and wasn't pushy; I was gonna buy as long as I liked, but my Mom definately wasn't and she had a mini makeover (at Shiva's urging) and Shiva wasn't the least bit upset Mom didn't purchase anything.
yeah, i have the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and I really like it - it just evens out my skin tone, but it never looks like I'm wearing makeup. The only thing is that I think I was using it too much b/c I started breaking out a little along my temples/hairline...but that could also be from the hair product I am using. But yes, I agree, her makeup is great, very natural.
