okay, so i'm engaged too, but still...sniff sniff...   


Jude Law is engaged to marry Sienna Miller after the actress accepted his romantic Christmas Day proposal. Miller - who met Law on the set of Alfie soon after his bitter 2003 divorce from Sadie Frost - was overcome with emotion when the actor pulled out a diamond engagement ring and asked her to wed him. Following Miller's immediate acceptance, Law then informed his children Rafferty, Iris and Rudy of his martial plans the following day when he whisked them off for a sunny holiday in the Seychelles. A spokeswoman for the couple, Caira Parks, last night confirmed Law and Miller will tie the knot - although they're still working on a date for the big day. She said, "It's true they are engaged. Jude has bought Sienna a big cluster diamond ring. He asked Sienna to marry him on Christmas Day. They spent Christmas together in England. They then headed to the Indian ocean. They have told their families the news and they're thrilled, as are Jude's children. They love Sienna and can't wait for the wedding. No date has been set yet and it is not known whether it will be this year. The date will depend on their filming schedules. They are both very busy at the moment." The news comes just months after Law and Miller rubbished reports they were planning to marry.

oh god. i've lost all respect for him. at least before i just thought it was a post-divorce, midlife crisis fling. she's hot and all, but that interview she did with w magazine (i think) totally turned me off.

an unflattering interview i somehow missed???  must look for it...


yeah, i know.  she's freaking 22 years old.  give me a break.  going back to that thread on how you know you're old, this is how i know i'm old: i think things like, "those show biz people, they think consequences don't apply to them."  geez, do i sound like a grandma or what?  but seriously, it'll never last.  yeah his kids like her, she's like a big sister for god's sake.

forgive my ignorance, but didn't his marriage break up b/c he was cheating on his wife with miller, or was that a different girl (different celeb.)?

I think it was Nicole Kidman who broke up his marriage even though it wasn't even true.  If I remember correctly, tabloids were reporting that they were together, which broke up his marriage to Sadie Frost, and then Nicole sued the tabloids and won a huge settlement.

uh, did they not hear that there was this, like, tsunami thing??  Or like, are they on the one resort that doesn't have dead bodies floating around it?  jeez.


eta: they probably didn't know about the tsunami before they went...but i wonder if they are actually still vacationing there?  that would be weird.  isn't the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean?

The Seychelles are in the Indian Ocean, but they're on the western side, much closer to Madagascar and the rest of Africa. They were impacted by the tsunami, but only slightly (as Somalia was). Only one person died there. Many of the tourists who were supposed to be in the Maldvies were actually diverted to Seychelles in the wake of the tsunami. According to the official website for the Seychelles (http://www.seychelles.com/), the place is fine... 


On a side note, I didn't even know Jude Law had 3 kids.... And while I'm not shocked about the engagement, I don't know how I feel. I agree that Sienna just seems to have it so easy.

valenciana, i think it was the spread in w a few months back that annoyed me. it wasn't unflattering per se, but she kept going on and on about how her private life was no one's business and possibly made a comment about how her career had nothing to do with jude, yet he was in most of the pictures and the interview was just with her. ummm, way to keep your boyfriend out of your career and press coverage.

yeah, i think the seychelles didn't have many tsunami effects. someone on another board that i belong to lives in madagascar and didn't even know about the tsunami until he logged onto the internet today (he doesn't have tv or radio and i guess is fairly isolated).

Lilykind...Didn't you hear the story a while back right about Jude and Sadie's kid? The story goes that they took their little girl (I think she was about 2 or 3) to a birthday party for someone else's kid at The Met Bar in London. Which was a really chic celeb hangout, I don't know why you would have a little kids birthday party there. Anyway, their little girl found a hit on E on the floor and ate it thinking it was candy and had to be hospitalized. Right after that rumors started to fly that they were breaking up.

Oh that thing with the kid eating a E tablet was a huge story in the UK.


Also, Jude Law is a whore. I bet Sienna knows full well she'll be sharing him with all his costars/random women he charms.
