Ok so latley I've been noticing lots of little things that are starting to show my age. Seriously I'm starting to see my mom i the mirror and it's making me kind of sad. Little fat pockets that I never noticed before, veins on my legs and arms, etc. No gray hairs, but I color, or wrinkles, but I bet they are comin. So I thought I'd ask you ladies do you have any "anti-aging" routines? Hubby and I started to make more effort eat healthier and be more active. I'm going back toPilates 3x a week. But what else can I do to move into this stage more gracefully?
I've added to my routine...eyecream day and night and also applying lotion on my whole body everytime I get out of the shower. Seems silly but they say loose elasticity in your skin as you age so I figure this helps.
I think a lot of it is how you feel about yourself too. Think yourself young!
I couldn't agree more with this! Of course, use sunscreen move a lot (I think more relaxing activities, such as walking in the trees, swimming or yoga are best, but that's my opinion...), use moisturizedrs etc. and eat good food.
But the most important thing is to NEVER lose you enthousiasm for life, for new things, for learning. You know these men and women that may have wrinkles, white hair and still make you feel they are much younger than their age? I' think that's the secret: love for life.
PS - I hear is much easier to keep younger if you have childern, as you do: a colleague was telling me how living with them makes you see the world though their eyes
exercise in general is great, but weight lifting is one of the best secrets to help you keep looking young. also, a recent study showed that regular exercisers have cells that appear 10 years younger than those of the same age who do not exercise regularly.
sunscreen and moisturizer are good for helping maintain elasticity. once you lose elasticity, there's no getting it back...
I don't think you smoke, but smoking is the best way to make yourself look older than you are...
and I agree with the others - be/think young!
