Need a dress for a wedding!

My DH's niece is getting married in 3 weeks on Long Island so it's new dress time! I don't want to spend a ton so less than $300 would be nice and something that will be flattering on the extra 8 pds I'm carrying right now. Feeling really gross so nothing really form fitted but i want to look really good since I'm not on the best terms with his family! Help!!

Will you and J be going to NY before the wedding for a little shopping?  If so I would suggest looking for a dress there.  I always find tons of cute stuff at Zara and ours haven't opened up yet in Chicago...

Unfortunately the wedding is on Friday so we're flying in Thursday night and home Saturday afternoon so no NY shopping for me!

Is it a daytime wedding? I'm not very familiar with Long Island or the weather this time of year...will it be outdoors? How formal does the dress need to be? Are we looking at springtime day dress, cocktail attire, or formal?

It's far from black tie, it will be held in a church and the reception will be at a hotel. I'm thinking springy cocktail. I could do the LBD but I'd rather do something with color. Not too concerned with the weather since we'll be inside most of the time. And I have to be able to wear a bra with it, my D's just will not stay up with a strapless!
