Has anyone seen this movie.  The characters are pretty cookie.  I found it quite funny.  Napoleon is a very lovable loser.  His dance performance in the end is outrageously funny!!!!

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! I don't think love is a strong enough movie. I watched the dance scene at the end up 15 times. Good stuff!

You know, when I was watching it, I was like, "this is kind of stupid." But afterward, I kept thinking about the movie and laughing. The lines are just so funny. I think I laughed more after the movie than during.

Here are my favorites:

Napoleon Dynamite: Well, I have all your equipment in my locker. You should probably come get it cause I can't fit my nunchucks in there anymore.

Napoleon Dynamite: Tina, you fat lard, come get some DINNER!... Tina, eat. Food. Eat the FOOD!

Don: [playing kickball] Hey, Napoleon. Did you wet the bed last night?
Napoleon Dynamite: Hey, Don, did you take a dump in your bed last night?
Don: I could kick your butt, Napoleon, so I'd shut up.
Napoleon Dynamite: Why don't you go tell your mom to shut up?
Don: What did you say?
Napoleon Dynamite: Whatever I feel like I wanna say.
Don: Did you say something about my mom?
Napoleon Dynamite: Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.
Don: Do you wanna die, Napoleon?
Napoleon Dynamite: Yeah right. Who's the only one here who knows the illegal ninja moves from the government?
Don: Step up, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: [slaps him and runs]

Teacher: Your current event, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

Napoleon Dynamite: Sorry I'm late. I just got done taming a wild honeymoon stallion for you guys

This was an awesome movie!!!!  So funny!  I wonder what this guy looks like in real life.  I wonder if he's as geeky as he is on film.

Sorry to be the party pooper, but are you freakin' kidding me!  We rented that movie this weekend and HATED it!  I was pissed we spent $4.50 to rent it!  There were parts of it that were funny, but I think I only laughed maybe 3 times throughout the entire movie and then completely lost interest.  What was the story exactly?  Did it have a point?  We ended up fast-forwarding through the last half b/c we got soooo bored!  Maybe I just didn't get it . . . . . ?

Fireball, here's a picture of what he looks like in real life

Okay, my picture worked the first time I posted/previewed it, but now it's not, soooo...here's a link to IMDB...

http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/2526/Events/2526/JohnHeder_Micks_3194132_400.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Heder,%20Jon

If that doesn't work, and you really, really () want to see him, just go to IMDB, type in "Jon Heder", click on "More photos", and there will be current photos..

I didn't like the movie at first because I thought it was too slow and it didn't really have a point but I remembered Halleybird replying to someone's message with the word Jealous! and just cracked up. It's funnier when you think about it later. I really liked Pedro's character. He's just funny!

My favorite part was the bus scene in the beginning...

Kid on Bus: What are you gonna do today, Napoleon?
Napoleon Dynamite: Whatever I feel like I wanna do, gosh!

Or that one part where Napoleon talks to that one kid who got beat up by a bigger kid and you see his gangster cousins driving by the school...

Napoleon Dynamite: Pedro offers you his protection.

I loved the Tina part. I thought it was going to be an actual person!

i saw this movie over the weekend, and i thought it was freakin' hilarious.  at first i was like, ok, this is funny, but is anything going to happen?  but then i sort of got into the rythm of it and could not stop laughing.  last night as i was falling asleep i chuckled aloud thinking of the scene where napoleon tries on the time machine....

it's definitely not for everyone, though.

I just looked at some of those photos of him.  He looks so different in person than in the movie.  He's kind of cute. Thanks for sharing the link CarrieS

Yes it's definitely the kind of movie that you have to get in a rhythm for.  The first time my bf saw it, he was like "eh" but then he saw it again a few weeks ago at a friend's house and was compelled enought to buy his own copy. Now he's watched it 5 times in the past two weeks!!

He is kind of cute in a geeky sort of way.  Better looking than Napoleon!

Here is Jon Heder out of his Napoleon garb...

Also, he is 26 years old, Mormon (as are the Hess's-- writers and directors of Napoleon Dynamite), and married. I read a bio on him the other day, not only is he an excellent dancer, he is also fluent in Japanese.

I sound so geeky...

Oh my god...I can't even believe how hard I laughed at this movie.  I was prepared to think it was really stupid, but I ended up watching it 3 times!!  I really did not think it was possible to make a movie that entertaining w/o ever resorting to any swearing or sex/drug references at all.

I don't understand? Did they crimp his hair to make it so frizzy???? How did they manage that fro?

I didn't really like the movie at first either. While I was watching it... I was trying to figure out what the point was, whether they were trying to be artsy, or what!!!!

Then the next day at work, my Mormon coworker who I love and is the greatest person in the world, was like, "oh yeah that movie is all Mormon." Then it seemed to make more sense to me. It's just a Mormon way of having fun! Sorry if this offends any Mormons out there... but for some reason I felt like the movie was trying so hard to be *something* and then when I realized it was a Mormon cast/production/etc it just seemed to make sense. Like it was clear that I was interrupting too much into this innocent little comedy. My mind just did a big "oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh I get it now."

Anyway, my coworker and I seriously ran through the movie line by line. We love that movie and I just laugh out loud when I think about the big dance number. :)

So funny! My name is Tina and I almost peed my pants laughing so hard at the llama part. Eat! It's the funniest movie I saw last year, hands down.

Vote for Pedro!
