ISO *more* shoes...and a ?
Permalink Closed

Okay girls, I'm back on the hunt. I need some comfy wedges in general and also some inexpensive flips (but with at least a 2" wedge, which is the problem) that I can just beat to hell for work. I can't wear anything too clunky for the flips, but a little zip or zing or bling wouldn't be the end of the world, either.

I'm looking at these (for the "comfy wedges in general") and I think some of you bought them a while ago. I'm worried about the wood bottoms. I have one pair of wood-bottomed shoes and while I love them, they're not flexible at all for walking, so I can't wear them for too long. Any of you "rock the boat" owners want to share your opinions? Here's the shoe I'm talking about:

wedges

TIA!

Those are by Seychelles, right? While I don't have those particular shoes, I've always found that brand to be really comfortable.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. Have you checked Nordstrom's website? They have some cute shoes right now. (But really, when do they not?)

I don't think the wooden wedge would be terribly comfortable IMO.  But I can't walk in them without clomping so maybe it's the clomping itself that's painful?

I recently tried these on and they are amazingly comfortable - the padding is more than I have in my running shoes. And, they are much cuter IRL and look like they would only get better looking with a bit of age. Not super dressy, but definitely not ugly or matronly in person.

Thanks! Ayo, I can't tell where those shoes are from.

Elle, you are a doll. I do like some of your selections...but I can't tell where they're from either. :(

NC, every pair of Seychelles shoes I own *is* very comfortable. :) But I worry about the wood bottom of that particular style - when I'm working away from home, I am on my feet long hours, and often I am outside on uneven terrain...I just can't wear a shoe that is really stiff or doesn't move with my foot for that kind of work...

I actually purchased the seychelles wedges and returned them...I could barely put my foot into them (my feet are on the wide side though).

Bummer!
The first four are from Endless, next four from Aerosoles, next two from Naturalizer, next American Eagle, Old Navy, Lori's Shoes, next two VS, last one Ann Taylor Loft.  Whew!

I have two pairs of wooden wedges from Nine West that are actually really comfortbale... one is 2 inch, the other is 4, believe it or not!

I saw these flips and thought there were pretty cute:
8521-590994-d.jpg also available in black.
6900-390149-d.jpg also available in brown & black.
4998-363662-d.jpg just black

Now, I don't remember if they're over 2 inches, but hopefully!

I just got these Born sandals, and they are so so so so so comfortable!

There is a ton of cushioning in the footbed and the cork makes them really lightweight.  They come in a bunch of other colors too.

Those are very cute, but if you are often on uneven terrain, I don't think they would be very comfortable like you said...  I have a pair of wooden sandals, and granted they're taller than those but even if they were lower, I wouldn't wear them if I had to be outside on my feet all day. They're just too stiff, I would be constantly losing my balance. I think the ones JJ and kmd would work better.

Thanks, ladies! I appreciate all your suggestions.

I ended up finding a pair at ATL that are very similar to the last ones kmd posted, and I am going to order some of the ones Elle posted. Thanks Elle! I especially like #'s 2, 4, and 9. I did try on that last pair at ATL and they weren't all that comfortable.

I just ordered like 10 pair from 6pm.com and will see if that helps too. :)
