hey. check it out! this is the best night ever because look at what i just bought on ebay!
these amazing animated holiday specials that we used to watch every year in catholic school!
-CHRISTMAS IS. Benji is playing the second shepherd in the school Christmas play for the second year in a row. But when Benji falls asleep while practicing his lines, his dream carries him and his dog Waldo to Bethlehem 2,000 years ago!
-EASTER IS. Benji must make a poster portraying the meaning of Easter. Frustrated for lack of good ideas, he pushes Waldo, his dog and pal, away. When Waldo later becomes lost, Benji’s dad tells how the disciples thought they would never see Jesus again. In the end the good news of Easter is shared—that just as Waldo comes back to Benji on Easter morning, Jesus also returned!
-THE CITY THAT FORGOT ABOUT CHRISTMAS. A gloomy city and its children discover "You can't stop Christmas" from Matthew the new carpenter in town. But the Dastardly Mayor and his henchmen plan to stop the celebration. Will they succeed?
these videos include amazing lyrics such as:"chip, chip, chip away!" (sung while people are carving a life size nativity scene), and "you can't stop christmas, no matter how you try! you can't stop christmas and here's the reason why!"
man, my sister is going to wet herself when i give these to her. i think this may top the time i bought tv movie "peter benchley's the beast."
and to make this night even more amazing! i found an mp3 on my old computer of a long last classic called "spiky doodie," which is a bizarre rap about excrement by two young boys that we found on the internet years ago and thought we had lost forever!
is it just me, or does "YOU CAN'T STOP CHRISTMAS" fcking creepy? DUDE AND HIS DOG won't' let you forget xmas or your christianity, or else! oh, and when are benji and waldo going to make this a bit realistic and wake up, a bit boozy, in father patrick's "secret chamber"?

I loved those as a little kid. They are so 70's. Was Nirvana out in 7th grade? I am 28, I thought they were big when I was in highschool. Maybe honey is much younger than I thought...!"
seriously, dude, nirvana wasn't even on our radar til 10th grade. honey??!
If honey is 25...this could still all work out. 10th grade is only 3 years past 7th grade...which is strange because for some reason it feels like much longer.
I remember wondering why they named a song after deodorant. I think I even *had* Teen Spirit deodorant. Do they still make that stuff? I think it smelled pretty bad.

yeah i'm 25. i think they still make teen spirit. when i was in elementary school that was what all the "cool" girls wore. anyway my bed is calling. goodnight ladies.
i think honey is a bit younger than me (i'm going on 27). so nevermind came out when i was in 8th grade (i remember "smells like teen spirit" being played at our graduation dance) . i think in utero came out at the beginning of my sophmore year. and then kurt offed himself.
honestly we watched things that were much creepier than the benji and waldo series in grammar school. although there was something very eerie about "chip, chip, chip away" which was sung by children with their freakish ethereal voices.
honey is such a wuss. and she's the youngest. i'm 28. i remember kurt offing himself when i was on a field trip in 11th grade. chip chip chip away is weird. i just watched anchorman, creepily, after watching an episode of arrested development where they both sang the "afternoon delight" song... omgwtflol!!
omg mizzle, bad brains?! well i guess it's probably required to listen to bad brains, minor threat, or fugazi at least once a day if you live in dc.
i'm listening to the undertones. i guess i decided to do that after writing about john peel on the dead celeb thread. at least it distracted me from "christmas wrapping" by the waitresses, which i've been listening to on repeat for the past 2 weeks. but hey, it's but once a year that i can get away with playing that song.
mizzle is clearly psychically connected to the starland vocal band! i haven't seen anchorman but i saw a will ferrell video on mtv for "afternoon delight." wtf? but i almost pissed myself when i watched that arrested development.
honey, good luck with the sewing! i'm sure it will be amazing!
