It calls for two weeks of detoxing....it's kind of complicated to explain but if you are interested, there is a book it's simply called The Fat Flush plan written by Ann Louise Gittleman.
I've done several other detox programs...this is probably the easiest...
i did one a few years ago called ultraclear. it was this nasty, grainy powder that you mix with water or juice and take 5 times a day for the first 5 days. then you slowly reintroduce food. they give you a sample menu and rules about which foods you can eat (it's mostly bland veggies like sweet potatoes, squash, rice at first). you continue to take the ultraclear a couple times a day for next week or so. the whole process takes 3 weeks i think.
the upside was that i lost weight and felt really good afterwards. the downside, it was torturous. by day 3 of no eating and drinking the nasty beverage, i felt totally flu-like sick. this was supposedly from the toxins leaving my body (i got this stuff from a naturopath, so i believe him).
just be really careful if you do somekind of diet that includes taking herbs or supplements. herbs are akin to drugs and should be treated accordingly. a lot of diet herb stuff has stimulants or laxatives in it that can really screw up your body and hurt you in the long run.
hey girls, i just started one today from www.handbag.com by matt roberts. i feel pretty starving right now & i just ate lunch. it lasts 3 weeks & i've never been on any kinda diet b4. wish me luck!
