Ok girls, I am going to a 70's theme NYE party and am wanting to style my hair a la Farrah Fawcett. I tried looking for instructions online but didn't really turn up anything that helpful. My hair is layered and about 3-4" past my shoulders. Here is a recent picture of me (albeit, a bad one after a long day of shopping with almost no make-up left on) if that helps at all in giving tips/instructions. I'm open to parting my hair on either the side or the middle.
Also, I think I'm going to do glittery blue eyeshadow and slightly frosty pink lipstick (my dress is a pale pink), do you think that is good make-up choices? Thanks in advance!!!
Fun (and you are too cute btw)! As for the feathering, part your hair in the middle, then take the top section of your hair and separate it into front-middle-and back sections. Using a large-barrel curling iron, curl each section away from your face and then pincurl/velcro roller it in place to cool and spray with hairspray. Take out the roller/pins and run a comb from your foread up and back through the curls, letting them fall to the sides.
Okay, that all make sense in my head but let me know if you need clarification!

fun! well, i feather my hair often (unintentionally). i just subconsciously want to be farrah j/k. :)
okay, so similar to what lmonet posted blw i part my hair (on the side) and instead of curling your round brush towards your forehead, put it on top of your hair (not underneath) and dry. one thing that makes it easy is actually moving the brush and arm to the side that you are flipping to. what i mean is: instead of holding your hair in front of you, hold it off to the side and then flip up. when you're about to move the brush away from your hair, let it fall to the side to get the feathered effect.
oh gosh.. it's definitely harder to describe..but it's really easy. i hairspray my hair after i style b/c i do my bangs when wet.
btw, cute pic and i think your makeup plans sound perfect!
