music to run to
Permalink Closed

So, i know there were numerous posts similar to this one on FH, but of course they've all been erased.  I just got an iPod mini for Christmas (wow!) and have been obsessively adding songs from my CDs and buying songs online.  but before i get carried away, i could use some good recs for songs I can run to. (you see, now that i have an ipod i will surely be running on the treadmill ALL the time.  i swear.)

So if you're up to it, would you post some of your fav aggressive songs to run to at the gym?  it's too cold and dark to run outside but i don't have to listen to bill o'reilly on the tv at my gym.  thanks.

i think there are more, but my ipod has been acting really strange lately and suddenly running out of battery power when it shouldn't, so i couldn't get the whole listing off it this morning.  i'll update with the rest of the songs after i charge it.

heh, i'm the same way.  pop songs are my guilty pleasure, esp. while working out...i'll admit, i downloaded an ashlee simpson song the other day, plus some kylie minogue...and i'm itching for more.

amelie, honey, scarlett, smash - thanks for sharing...you've given me some good ideas - def. need to get some ac/dc, some jay-z, maybe even some britney.  it's funny, i had already added some of the same songs you guys recommended before i posted - franz ferdinand, killers, and modest mouse...great minds...

This is probably better for running outside- but my favorite song to run to of all time is "Where the streets have no name" by U2.  I used to start every run with that song when I would practice for cross country.  THEN I would listen to rap and britney =)

I listen to music with a thumping bassline or a definite beat. I do jog outside during the night so my playlist may be more mellow.

Moby f/Gwen Stefani “Southside”

Green Day “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”

Kylie Minogue “In Your Eyes”

Vanessa Carlton “Private Radio”

Frou Frou “Let Go”

Boom Boom Boom Boom “Vengaboys”

Janet Jackson “Strawberry Bounce”

No Doubt “New”

No Doubt “Come On Eileen” (cover of the Dexy’s Midnight Runners song)

Janet Jackson “Trust A Try”

Delirium f/Sarah McLachlan “Silence” (Above and Beyond remix)

Savage Garden “The Animal Song”

Avril Lavigne “Sk8er Boi”

Mya “My Love Is Like…Wo!”

The Hives “Hate To Say I Told You So”

Ronan Keating “Life Is A Rollercoaster”

N*SYNC “Do Your Thing”

Frou Frou “Breathe In”

Kylie Minogue “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”

Weezer “Island In The Sun”

Daniel Bedingfield “Gotta Get Through This”

Gwen Stefani “What You Waiting For”

S Club 7 “Natural”

Missy Elliott “Get Your Freak On”

Frou Frou “Shh”

No Doubt “Just A Girl”

Sarah McLachlan “Sweet Surrender”

Sting “Desert Rose”

Pink “Most Girls”

Paul Oakenfold “Starry Eyed Surprise”

Madonna “Die Another Day”

Cher “Walking In Memphis” (don’t laugh…it has a dance flavor)

Mya “Free”

Madison Ave "Don't Call Me Baby"

Emma Bunton "Maybe"

Melanie C "On The Horizon"

Mealnie C f/Lisa "Left-eye" Lopes "Never Be The Same Again"

Mandy Moore "In My Pocket"

Blue "Curtain Falls" (as long as you like boybands...it samples LL Cool J's "Gangstas Paradise")

Eric Prydz "Call On Me"

Ice Cube feat Mack 10 & Ms Toi - You Can Do It

I recommend looking at the UK top 40 singles chart to get some music you normally wouldn't hear otherwise.
