haha.. well... i think i win worst xmas gifts ever. from xmas with my boyfriend's family, we got:

a salt & pepper shaker shaped like an egg. and it's wearing red high tops.
a "thing for our computer." (a metal base with 7 creepy wires and clips for pictures/notes)
a plastic gun that's a fly swatter
a big ugly blue bowl
i got a black fleece from the gap i'll never wear
my boyfriend got slippers that are 2 sizes too small (though his brother got jeans that are 4 sizes too big)
and a magnetic dart board (actually not so bad)

but at least we're not his cousin... she got gloves with a panda, raccoon, otter, and various other animals as fingers. she's 28. why do relatives give these stupid gifts??!

-1928 watercolor of a canal in venice by a fairly well known connecticut artist (my dad got it for me, i love venice and i used to work with the painter's son so it has some personal meaning)

from my sister: alfie soundtrack, julie christie biography, weird dangly earrings, and copies of this insane series of pictures we took a few years ago in quebec of my sister eating poutine in mcdonalds. they had been missing for a while so i was pretty excited.

from my aunt: random lancome makeup, weird notecards, yummy swedish gummy things. she usually gives good gifts, except for those years when she's pissed at my dad. this was one of those years.

from my grandma: money plus a gift bag of random things she can buy at the drug store (she can't get around very well) like toothbrush, deodorant, stockings, lotion. we've gotten this every year since she had her hip replaced. it's actually a pretty good gift since i just shove the bag somewhere and dip into it when i have a hygiene emergency.

i gave really good gifts this year.
