Vegas for New Year's

At the last minute, my friends and I are thinking about going to vegas for new year's.  What would be the best club to go to that night?  If you have a fave, please let me know why you recommend it.

I'm going to Vegas for New Year's. If you don't have hotel reservations, you may not be able to get any. Most hotels and restaurants are completely booked through the whole weekend.  We made our reservations in late October.

But anyway, from what I've heard, it's not good to try to venture too far from your own hotel on NYE b/c the strip is crazy.  We wanted to go to The Palms (Ghostbar or Rain) or to Light in the Bellagio, but those hotels are too far from New York New York. We are going to Tabu in MGM Grand. I've never been there, but I've read some good recommendations for it in a few newspapers.

nylabelle--wish I had read your post before the trip...we didn't have a problem getting reservations.  we stayed at Excalibur, but I wish I had known not to make club reservations so far away.  We went to the grand opening of Pure at Caesar's Palace (beautiful, amazing club) but didn't realize what a hassle it would be to get there from Excalibur.  First we took the monorail from MGM to Flamingo because someone told us we'd be able to cross the street from Flamingo to Caesar's Palace...wrong!!  We ended up walking so far in our stilettos to find a break in the street where we could get across.  My feet were horribly swollen the next day.  I still don't regret it, I loved Pure and seeing Mariah Carey was cool.  But next time I do Vegas for New Year's, I will definitely get a hotel closer to the club.

Jackie--New Year's was really fun, I definitely recommend it.  It does get really crazy though out on the strip so as long as you're ok with big crowds then I say go for it.

NYE was a great time! I didn't want to come home and now the bf is talking about moving to Vegas (something I've suggested before, but he didn't take me seriously--but we have both previously checked out UNLV for grad school. It was great b/c my allergies were completely gone out there and I didn't have to take any medication for them out there at all. Back in PA, I can hardly breathe most of the time). Anyway...

We stayed at New York New York and getting to our NYE destination at MGM Grand (which is right across the street) was a complete ordeal. It took us almost 45 minutes to cross the street b/c they closed the walkway over the street that connects them. Awful. Next time, I won't leave my freaking hotel!!! But it was fun, nonetheless.
