STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

So there's about a foot and a half of empty space between our bathroom sink and the wall where I have an ugly green plastic laundry hamper.  I've tried removing it and trying to 'train' DH to put his clothes in the bathroom closet where its hidden.  Nope, didn't work, he tried, but it was easier to dump his dirty jeans in the empty spot on the floor where the hamper used to be.  I admit, I did it too.
Soooo, I need a nice BIG hamper that I can replace it with that won't be such an eyesore and won't startle visitors, lol. I need it to have some sort of lid to hide what's inside.
