RSVP's

i'm sure i'm not alone in this, but i find it really frustrating how lax people are with their RSVP's.  two of my aunts are throwing me a shower next weekend, and my bridesmaids, my future in-laws, and FH's sisters (who are also bridesmaids) haven't responded.  what really annoys me is they've all casually said to me things like "i'm not sure but i don't think i can come" and none of them gave a real RSVP to my aunts.  so i had to ask all of them and they all said they thought i would pass their regrets along.  there are so many things for me to keep track of these days, and i just wish people would be responsible and take two minutes to do the polite thing and RSVP themselves.  is anyone else having this trouble?

I had that trouble.  You're not alone.

My favorite is when you ask them for a yes or no and they get impatient with you about it.

Ugh I am not looking forward to this. One of my least favorite things about weddings is the rsvp process. People are so rude in not responding in an appropriate manner!

I hear you! I am planning my own wedding and the shower and bachelorette party for my best friend. Even her own family members are so flaky with a "i don't know" "going to try to make it" blah blah blah. how can you account for people that way? Good luck Kel in your final weeks! Just think of the day after it's all done! :)

I feel your pain.  We had to literally have our family repeatedly call people we had invited to see if they were coming up to a week before the wedding because they were not returning phone calls, etc... most of the time if you haven't heard by the RSVP date it is a no, but still they should tell you!

Ironically one of these invites was to a friend of my sister's who I was pretty close with too, anyway he basically asked to be invited, and we obliged even though he wasn't originally on the list... and then he doesn't even RSVP... people are just rude sometimes.

We actually did an evite as well as formal mailed invitations. It helped out tremendously. A lot of people only responded to the evite (usually the single guys). The evite helped us get a more accurate headcount, and we could send out reminders.
