Vacuums and other "electrics"
Permalink Closed

Ladies,

Has anyone registered for a vacuum? Or any other electrical things like that. Why should we buy them later? I have 2 showers coming up (MD and NY, i have a HUGE family) and our crate and barrel stuff was cleaned out for our engagement party. I can't really register for more bowls and measuring cups.

I do need to add bed and table linens, but am searching for misc stuff to add that we'll use but that i just can't think of.

Any suggestions would be greatly aprreciated.

We have registered for a very expensive vacuum. If we don't get it as a present, we will probably buy it later.

we aren't registering for a vacuum (we have wood floors and no space to store a big vacuum, so we don't want to register for it even if we'll want/need it later), but we are registerinh for luggage and lots of apartment decor, which are a few non-dish/linen options for you to add to your registry. we don't have any matching luggage at all and we do travel pretty frequently (and most of the time it's to visit people who will be guests at our wedding!), so we feel like that was a good addition. if people don't buy it for us, no biggie. no harm in adding it.

a friend of mine also recommended that we register for an aero-bed -- it's a good thing to have on hand for guests (especially if you just have a small sofa like we do) and collapses to an easily storable size.

friends of our have registered at home depot for tools and things like that, and one set even registered for an outdoor grill. we just don't have space or need for things like that, but if you do, there is no rule that says you can't register for them.

in terms of room decor, we picked several different pillow covers and things like that from pottery barn as well. i am constantly changing the decor/colors of our living room, so it would be nice to have a few different options. since PB sells pillow cases instead of pillows for their throw pillows, we registered for the pillow forms and then several different cases so we can change them from time to time and can easily store the ones that aren't currently in use.

so there are a few other ideas for you.

Thanks Smash and Irene!

I'm planning to go to Bloomies in Jan, after all the Christmas maddness to add stuff stuff. Those are all great suggestions. i just figure we have so many guests I'd rather give them plenty of options of things we want rather than getting another Cicada pitcher and mug set. I am NOT making that up. cicadas like the insects!

Yeah, I've been adding random stuff while I'm at work. We did a major "shop" at bloomies, fortunoffs, and crate and barrel months ago. the ONE time i went alone I was able to hold the registry gun.

I got "spoken to" at bloomies bc it is a registry SCANNER, not a gun and they do not promote gun violence. umm, OK.

we're on weddingchannel.com (Jessica Stillman and Andrew)

Oh don't forget a dust buster (the small hand vaccuums) if you have pets.  They are excellent for picking up pet hair on furniture and stuff.
