For almost two years I've had braces (bleh) and just found out they'll come off next month! Our wedding is at the end of June, and I'm sooo happy there will be time to get my teeth whitened. I'll do it through my dentist. I also think FH could use some brightening, but doubt he'll want to pay as much as a dentist would charge. What are the best at-home tooth whiteners?
Crest Whitestrips are still my favorite. They might not be the sexy, new product out there, but they work. People say that the whitening trays (don't know what brand) work well too, but I have not tried them. Anything that puts that whitening gel in contact with your teeth for a long time is what you need in order to get results.
You gotta go with the Crest Whitestrips. They're the best. They can sometimes make your teeth hurt after prolonged use but just take a day or two off and you're good to go again. My dentist recommended them in place of professional whitening before I got veneers so I could get a whiter color. They worked amazingly well.
Yeah for the braces coming off! I had them in my 20's for 3 years and hated them, but it was so worth it in the end. I really like the crest whitestrips premium. I went to Britesmile for several years and have started using the whitestrips recently. My mom told me she thinks my teeth are whiter with the whitestrips.
I love Crest Whitstrips too. They did make my teeth hurt to the point where I stopped using them but then a friend recommended using Crest sensitivity toothpaste a few days before I started using the whitestrips again. The toothpaste worked great, I used the whitestrips twice a day and did not have any pain.
I use the regular crest whitestrips, they work pretty well, but I can't bear to use them consistently because they hurt my teeth. because of this, I am afraid to use the premium ones.

I love GoSmile for touch-ups. I'll use one after I drink coffee or tea and it prevents a lot of staning and tastes good. I also highly recommend either Rembrant toothpaste or if you want ot spend a little more, GoSmile has the best toothpaste (one of AM and one for PM)
I'm a third vote for Listerine whitening mouthwash. I have trays my dentist made and my friend does marketing for cosmetic dentists, so she gets me the bleach for free, but I get the most compliments when I am using the Listerine every day. I definitely notice a difference when I stop and have recommended it to several friends who are now hooked!
That being said, I love the trays and my teeth reached my desired level of whiteness when I started using them, so I also highly recommend going that route. Would your fiance do the tray thing at a dentist? Many dentists run specials and give the trays and a set of bleach for free with a cleaning/x-ray exam. Just a thought... The trays last forever and you can get refills of the bleach for reasonable prices when you have check ups.
In fact, the dentists my friend reps all generally recommend the trays for people over the zoom/britesmile.
