I just came home to my townhome from cleaning my new house and its so much

that kind were you get on your hands and knees and see shit everywhere! There toliet
upstairs was ghetto! Yuck!
I hate moving!!!!!!
I cant wait till we are settled in our new house. Sucks I have to clean the place I'm leaving
so I can hope to get my deposit back.
Thanks for listening, I had to vent.

Sorry you had to clean up their crap!  As for your place, don't sweat the small stuff!  You'd be suprised at what most places just plain won't notice.  They have a cleaning crew come in and clean it again anyways.  When I moved out of my first apartment, all I did was run a damp paper towel over the kitchen and bathroom counters.  We weren't charged a dime!  My suggestion would be to clean the really obvious stuff, have a walk through, and then only clean the stuff they point out to you.  Good luck!

I agree w/ LMonet about not doing too much to clean up your old place.  If you're a clean person to begin with, I would just mop, vacuum, clean the stove, etc.  Just major stuff.  I actually had a landlord laugh at me when I told him all I did to clean up an old house.  He said "no one does all that.  Guess it'll get cleaned twice".  He legally can't hold your deposit for silly stuff.  The deposit is there in case you have MAJOR stains on your carpet, a stinky refridgerator, etc.

I feel your pain about moving, though.  Being in the military, we've moved so many times.  It's not too bad, because they pay for movers, but I still have a lot to do each time.  The holidays are probably the most stressful time to do it too!

i know what you mean, tati.  people can be so disgusting.  when we moved into our house, i could not believe how gross it was once you started looking.  it was like the people that owned it before never cleaned.   ewww, hair everwhere.  so gross.  i wouldn't even use the toilet before i scrubbed it.

Oh could I tell you a story about the house I bought...Here's just a bit.

There was mouse poo covering all the closet floors and shelves and the KITCHEN cabinets.  The walls bled when we washed them (dirt and cig smoke and who knows what else).  Most of the window screens were broken, if there were any at all.  And the smell...we cleaned and painted and the smell still didn't go away until the floors were sanded, stained and sealed.  It was the DIRTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING house ever.  But now it rocks.  So I totally feel your pain.

Good luck with your move and I hope you love your new house!

oooh i feel your pain. maybe as a reward you could get yourself fancy, designer cleaning products or a cute detergent for delicates. i know for me this always adds a little extra pleasure in doing housework.

When my parents bought a house, my dad actually used the hose inside all of the rooms because the place was soooooo nasty.  We cleaned for days.  Don't worry too much, it'll all be worth it.
