Ok, so I felt lik my hair needed a little boost and I got a box of natual instincts (temp color). I've used it before with good results. I went a little more red and I didn't care for it so I tried another box, more brown, to hopefully tone it done. Well that didn't really work. It's pretty red. I've colored it twice so I don't want to do it again but it's a bit.....vibrant. Should I just wash it a lot? Will that help? (starting to panic...)
Hmm, hopefully someone will have a better answer, but maybe try washing it with dish soap. I dyed my hair black at home once and it was just awful, not shiny at all, but I was young and dumb and used permanent color. The only thing my hairdresser at the time cold recommend was to wash it with dish soap. Hopefully since your color isn't permanent you have other options. Also, red fades a lot. I am wondering if you can wait a couple of weeks til it fades, and at the same time use one of those brown color-depositing/color-boosting shampoos, and maybe that will help.
I use Natural Instincts too and find most of their colors to run a little more on the vibrant and/or dark side. I dyed mine and it came out a bit too dark/cold, so I just washed a couple times with a clarifying shampoo. Didn't completely remove the color but toned it down significantly, which was my intention.
Temp color is depositing color on your hair, not removing, so I don't think it would likely be damaging. I'd try to wash out what I could first though - you may not need to recolor at all.

Those temp colors don't usually last very long, so if it were me, i'd probably just wait it out. Most likely it will be significantly faded in a week or less and you won't have to deal with risk of trying to fix it.
I had really good luck with one of the color removing products. I can't remember what it was called but it was over by the hair coloring products. Just make sure you condition after each step!
