replying with a quote

If I am replying to a topic and I want to quote something that was said in the topic, how do I do?   I don't know how to copy part of what was said in the topic to which I am replying into my reply as a quote.  I hope I made sense.

right next to the "reply" link is one that says "quote" - just click on that instead, from the message that you'd like to quote.  then it appears in the text box and you can edit it as you wish!
