Coat with mascara and then curl, or curl and then coat?

If I curl first, the mascara then flattens my lashes which makes it lose the curl. But if I coat afterwards, I feel yucky because my curler is dirty.

NEVER curl your lashes after you've applied your mascara!  It's a good way to lose your eyelashes!  If your mascara is weighing your lashes down that much it's probably b/c your mascara is too wet and/or you're trying to apply too much at once.  Try scraping the wand on the tube's rim to get the excess off and then apply 2-3 thin coats instead of one thick one.

I always curl then apply mascara. I heat up my eyelash brush- Like blowing hot air from my hair dryer on it for a few seconds or putting it in my armpit to warm it up - how lovely, I know. Usually they are super curled when I do that and then putting the mascara on flattens them and makes them look more natural. Just make sure your eye lash curler is not too hot, you don’t want to burn your eye lids.

I do the opposite - mascara first, then curl. I am careful and don't lose lashes this way...I guess it's up to the person.
