To come over to someone's home (invited) but at 10:00 PM on a weekday? Say, you were invited to come over around 7/8, but you show up at 10:00PM. Rude or not?

No party, someone just stopping over to drop something off. Then deciding to bring his stupid girlfriend and stay for TWO hours.

If he was running late, I think the polite thing for him to do would have been to call ahead of time and then we he dropped off something, he should have just left a few minutes afterward. However, maybe he felt like you wanted them there for those 2 hours. I'm sure you were nice to him and that probably made him feel welcome.

Nope, I went to sleep. I had to work in the morning, and since this way the boy's friend I didn't feel the need to entertain.
definitely rude. and i also think it's rude when people call after 10 PM (as long as we're on the subject). the friend should have called to let you know he was running late, and also not stayed for two hours on a weeknight.
