I've been with my bf for a little over 2 years, the past year or so has been a long distance thing. Overall, it's actually been better than I thought it would be, considering the extra strains the distance puts on a relationship.

But today I had had an argument with him (which rarely happens).. on AIM for goodness sake, which made it even more frustrating. It was just one of those things where it is okay for 2 ppl to have differing views, but we were both being really stubborn and argumentative. I know 2 ppl don't have to necessarily agree on everything, but it still doesn't feel good.

When I go through one of these, I always think about whether or not this is even worth it and I start feeling really discouraged. I'm probably overreacting because I'm still feeling emotional from the situation. I don't even know when we could even live near each other again, it'll be a couple of years at the minimum. He's the first guy I ever seriously dated and I really like him.

It's funny because yesterday I was going to make a post for some suggestions on how to keep a long distance relationship more romantic and exciting since ours has gotten relatively boring and dry, but today this happened instead.

Just wanted to share, thanks for listening.

Sorry missbean !  I go through phases like that with my bf too, and we've been together for 8 years!  It'll all blow over in a few days when your both in better moods and nerves aren't so raw.  Hang in there!

I had a long distance relationship with my BF for nearly two years and I know how it feels to have a massive argument over AIM. The ditance hurt so bad that we almost broke up over the phone two weeks before we were going to finally be together in the same city. I feel your pain.

Just hang in there. I'm not perfect and neither is my BF but all that fighting and the differences that have populated our long-distance relationship has really made us stronger for what we face now together. You can make it!

thanks guys for listening. we still haven't spoken yet (both being stubborn, its stupid, i know), but its just good to know that all couples go through arguments here and there. i already know this, but sometimes i feel like there is something "wrong" if we do disagree/argue, hence i start feeling really discouraged.

I completely understand where you are coming from. When my b/f and I argue, it is not even that bad but I always worry about it is worth it. But I also remember that i am a parnoid freak who needs everything perfect. Then i look at it from an overall perpective and realize that overall i am happy even though at that moment i am livid. Like i am sort of relate to you right now because i went home for 3 wks and so right now my b/f and i are doing a temp. long distance thing and it sucks. He is not a phone person either which makes it even harder. But just keep looking on the bright side and don't worry this little fight will blow over.
