selling a car **UPDATE**

The heart icon was just for fun... anyways, i'm selling a car (long story for why) & wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience w/ that topic.  I don't want to get ripped off or even worse, kidnapped on a "test drive".  Any suggestions, ideas... I placed ads on craigslist, pennysaverusa, & recycler and so far I've gotten 3 emails (one seemed fishy tho).  Thanks for any advice!!

When you are going on a test drive I would just make sure that you have someone else with you-preferably a guy. I just sold a car and it was amazing the weirdos that call (one guy actually asked me if I or anyone else had sex in the car and when I said NO! he sounded disappointed). If someone calls and wants to test-drive the car maybe you could meet at a public place like a grocery store or something and just don't alone. There is a local channel that advertises community events and I put and ad on there and one in the local paper. There is a website Kelly’s Blue Book http://www.kbb.com/ that can give you prices on cars. You could also take it to a few car dealers and she would they would buy it from you for. They are going to go way low, but then at least you can have a starting point.

wow, RyanJ, that sounds pretty scary!  I'm meeting a guy today at work (I told my cube mate that if I don't come back, call the cops) & a lady tomorrow also at work (it's a well populated location but empty enough for a test drive).  I stupidly put a really low price on recycler.com & that's the guy I'm meeting today.  I now realize I can probably get a lot more so I think this meeting will be worthless.  Oh well, hopefully the lady tomorrow will be cool.

in case anyone was interested, i sold the car for $1900!!  that's about $300 over blue book!  now i am carless tho as my new car deal fell thru.
