on the hunt for camel pants & layering tops
Permalink Closed

I can never seem to find a nice pair of camel colored pants to be worn casually or dressed up a little.  Kind of boring, yes, but has anyone seen a nice pair?  Pref. not thick wool.

The other basics my closet is screaming out for are tops to wear under blazers.  I am looking for maybe one dressy top, and at least 3 casual tops - preferably long sleeved or at least just not sleeveless (it's cold these days...)  I'm looking for cute, and trying to avoid crewnecks (they make my ta-tas look like they go on forever...NOT a good thing).  I also find that button downs are sometimes a bit bulky or look too "business casual" (I currently have no reason to dress business casual, thank god).  Also I'm trying not to spend a whole rack of money right now.  I'm kind of a picky customer, sorry...but please, suggestions are needed!

here are a few of the jackets I own to give you an idea:'

I think the pants at the Limited come in different fabrics just like the Express ones.  I couldn't tell you which fabrics but I'm pretty sure they have options.

I have a muted green Nanette Lepore pinstriped jacket with bows on the pockets that i had so much trouble matching...what I ended up finding was a cream colored long sleeve Ella Moss shirt that has ruching down the front and a lace overlay on the front (not on the sleeves).  It is a basic that looks cute under things or on its own. I didn't search too intensively (I couldn't find it at normal places that sell Ella Moss) and only found one that is hunter green on eBay.  But that could work nicely with the black velvet jacket.  The picture's not great though..

nice picks, honey and lynnie.  if i could find that ella moss in my size it would be cute.  I also like that last bluefly top you posted, honey.  what about this, or is it too long?  i like the look of a longer top layered under a shorter jacket or top.  they also have something similar in black - (we can post bluefly pics now, how awesome is that?):

of course it isn't long sleeved...

i don't know why this is giving me so much trouble...I guess i just don't have the basics....

how'd you get the bluefly pic. to post? it totally didn't work for me. i like the top you picked. i also like the idea of a longer layer under a shorter layer and think the pink color would look especially nice with the camel and green jackets.

I just did the usual...copy and paste the url and stick it between the image brackets....it's weird that it won't let you do it...maybe throw a post up in the "technical difficulties" topic or something?

You shouldn't have to use the URL anymore.  Just right click on the image, copy, and paste  it in your reply.
