Need to be South Beach sexy
Permalink Closed

So every winter my FH and I go to South Beach we'll be tehre from Christmas day to January 2nd and then we typically go every other weekend for the winter. Problem is  I just do not know how to dress sexy. The women out there all look and dress so exotic. Please help me find a few outfits where I can look sexy, a dress, a skirt outfit and a jeans and sexy top. I've also put on 10 pds this year so I'm a size 6 and v self conscious of my weight so sexy without being slutty. Can anyone pull this off? I know you girls can, I just want my fiance to be wowed a couple night while we are there. He loves me in skirts/dresses and I never wear them. Help please please please. Thanks.

the first "rule" of sexy is to be comfortable in what you're wearing. much of "sexy" is just having confidence in the fact that you look awesome and going from there. no one looks good when they are fidgeting with their clothes.  w/ that in mind, is there anything specifically that you don't like to wear? i'll post some general stuff, and then we can go from there.

as far as sexy items, i think drapey stuff works well b/c it's soft and flowing. also you can use drapey layers of clothing to hide and reveal "problem" areas selectively

jeans:  i love trouser jeans you get the denim feel, but it's a bit more dressy. i almost always post these by seven b/c i think they're great.

and strappy gold shoes by bcbg girls

i love this skirt from theory, paired with this top from arden b. (well i love the overall style of the top, i'm not quite sold on the beaded thing hanging from it.)

or this girlshop skirt with

and mules

a denim skirt can be really versatile:

(classic) ; & bright red shoes

a bit funkier

some dress ideas:

the first dress is dvf. i like it b/c it's really feminine and pretty without being too girly or frilly, plus the style would be universally flattering.

the second is susana monaco. it's a bit more va va voom, but not too revealing. also the contrast detail would add an interesting touch (as opposed to just a standard lbd).

the last is ella moss. granted i'm a bit of an ella moss fanatic, but this can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories. also these dresses are super comfortable, which is great especially if you're not a big dress person.

I *love* the first outfit Honey posted...that looks really good. Also, word to the advice on sexy starting with comfort. There's nothing worse than seeing someone (or being that someone) who's constantly standing at awkward angles and tugging at their clothes because they feel self-conscious.

Here are some suggestions from me:

I love this Anja Flint top (from Girlshop) - it would be good for hiding a tummy (I don't know how you gain weight - I gain it in my butt and hips, not my tummy):

L'Occidentale from Girlshop:
