pls post technical problems in this forum.

OK - this happened once yesterday and twice today. I type a reply and then hit "submit post" and then I get the error page that says "page not found" (that page you get when you're offline and try to get onto the internet). Is it my computer or what? I don't get it on FH or makeupalley.

Oh, no! No, that's not your computer. Either the page is taking too long to load and it's timing out, or for some reason the board is directing itself to the wrong page/one that doesn't exist. I'll add that to things I need to look into - thanks for letting me know!

okay, let's see if i can explain this clearly...

i was in the "general polls" section and when i clicked the link above the thread "stylethread forum" to return to the forum page, when i got back, it had inexplicably logged me out (i.e. where on the last page it said "logged in as valenciana -- posts: 23" it now had the login username and password fields. i think this also happened when i tried to link to the forum main page from "tech style" as well, can't remember if that's the right section now though.

also, i noticed on some of the section pages there are links at the top like this:

stylethread site home page -> stylethread forum -> shopping & fashion (or whatever the name of the section is)

and on other section pages, the links are like this:

stylethread forum -> shopping & fashion (no link to the home page from there)

okay, so this second issue appears to just be my lack of attention...the second links format looks like it appears on actual thread page, whereas the first one with link back to home page shows up on the section pages...

i did, however, just get booted to some sparklit page asking for me to register, when trying to return to the forum.

yeah, valanciana, those links are just breadcrumb navigation. It has to do with what page you are on - think Hansel and Gretel and breadcrumbs...

I have no idea why you got logged off - sounds like a weird little glitch. I'll send to the help desk. Thanks, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

yeah, i'm just too lazy to read the links and kept clicking on the link to go to the homepage instead of back to the forum.

no biggie re: the being logged out, just wanted to let you know.

Under this topic area for motto contest when you click to go back to stylethread forum (from the links above) it brings me back to the list of forums but logs me out so I have to log in. I think someone was trying to remember this but was having trouble. Just wanted to pass it along.
