Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm pregnant with my first child, only showing a tiny bit.. (11 weeks along), probably mostly bloating and not baby..not enough for most maternity clothes. I'm looking to buy regular (not maternity) tees/tops that will stretch in the belly area a little bit. Basically looking for good quality basics in general. I'm also lookin for necklaces (choker style), that are small and dainty. If anyone has seen the kind Giada Delaurentiis wears on her cooking show that are by tiffany - something similar to those but lower priced (preferably under 100), doesn't have to be real gold/diamonds. I'm also having issues with pants because mine won't button now that im pregnant, but like I said I'm not large enough for belly bands or most maternity clothing. I'm looking for stretchy pants that aren't sweats and that are suitable to wear out to shop/every day. Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated. Thanks girls :)
It's hard to say what tops would work for you - alot of it depends on your frame/build in general. If you're short or short in the torso and usually on the smaller side of sizing, a size up in a slightly longer style of top will probably hold you over for awhile. If you're taller or on the larger side of sizing, you might not be able to size up or things might not be long enough.
This is my favorite place to get basic tops and tees. The quality is really nice, things are well-cut (on the longer side3), and they have decent sales (and usually coupon codes).
As for the pants issue, you could try looping a hair band through your button hole and around the button. And some people I know have had good luck with a Bella Band, which is designed to be worn with normal pants to cover up the unbuttoned-ness, but looks like you're just wearing a tank top layered underneath something else. There are knockoffs of it around too which are cheaper, or you could try sewing one yourself.
T-shirts that come in longer lengths (like 24" +) have gotten me through 6+ months. It helps hold their shape if they have a little spandex in them, but I have a bunch of basic tees (from Victoria's Secret, forever 21) that are 100% cotton that work fine - just throw them in the wash + dryer and they shrink back to their normal shape. Like what Elle said, I guess it depends on if you have a long torso or not. I think I have a slightly shorter than average torso, so it works for me! I did not size up for my tops because I didn't want to look frumpy, I still wanted that cute, fitted look.
As far as pants, the old rubber band trick worked for me until I was about 5 months, when I started wearing maternity bottoms. You take a rubber band and slide it through the buttonhole of your jeans/pants. Then take each end of the rubberband and loop it over the button of your pants. Now you can wear your jeans partially unzipped and they'll stay up! Just make sure your top is long enough to cover your open fly! Tunics are great for this.
I'd just keep my eyes peeled. Most of my tops have that extra room factor (and I'm not even preggo). No other ideas but I did want to welcome you to the forum.

Y'know, I've not tried any of the pants yet. The ones they offer in short lengths rarely make it to the sale section, which is where I wait for the stuff I want to pop up! I will say though that their house brand in all the tops I've tried is really good - cut very precisely and they wash well. So while I can't speak for the fit I've been consistently impressed with the fabrics and construction.
You can stack codes on their website (and there are maybe 3 good ones you could use right now) so I'd order up a bunch of stuff with those and send back what doesn't work, personally.

Thanks! I just used a couple codes and order about 6 pairs of pants. I won't keep them all (or maybe I will). Can't wait to check them out! I was tempted to order some shirts as well but I really don't need those quite as much. Next time.
