Why are men so much more violent than women?

Maybe if I knew the answer to this my life would change because it would give me a fresh perspective on raising my young toddler sons.  It is important to me because I have been very interested in gender differences since becoming a mother of boys after a lifetime of being very feminine, and biased.  Now that know so many male tendencies are innate rather than learned, I want to know why God chose to let humans evolve this way.
