Zappos no longer offers price matching or free overnight shipping:

Q: How long will it be before I receive my order?

A: For standard shipping, you should receive your order within 4-5 business days. Please allow additional time for shipments to APO/FPO addresses.

Q: Can I expedite my shipping?
A: The following shipping options are available when you check out.

Expedited orders placed before 1 PM Pacific on a business day will be shipped out the same day. All other orders will be shipped out the next business day.

Standard Shipping (delivery within 4-5 business days): FREE
1-Business Day Shipping and Handling: $25 per order
2-Business Day Shipping and Handling: $15 per order
3-Business Day Shipping and Handling: $7 per order
USPS Priority Mail: $7 per order

They also bought 6pm.com and this seems to be how they will handle clearance items. This site has some decent prices, but the shoes are older.

Anyway, will you still shop there?

I will still shop with zappos because they have such a great selection.  However, if I find the same shoe for a lower price somewhere else that offers free shipping, I'll use them (like shoes.com or shoebuy.com, etc.).  Zappos' prices haven't been much to write home about for years anyway.

Uuuuugh!!! I loved the overnight shipping!! Although $7 for three day is not bad at all. I buy shoes from Zappos often, and I am thinking that maybe the prices will lower to balance out the lack of free shipping.

i don't know. i could care less about the overnighting, but i am super pissed at the no more price matching. i understand they are a business but they rarely have anything remotely passing as a good deal and i think i'll be taking my shoe purchasing to B&M or better online sales.

When Zappos first started doing free overnighting, they didn't advertise it.  I think they should've kept it that way.  Overnighting, in the beginning, was a pleasant surprise.  I didn't always expect that I would get it.  A ton of problems ($$ and customer service-related) probably cropped up because everyone now expects that they'll get free overnight service.

I completely agree with Erin: Boo to the no price matching. 99.9% of the time I find better deals elsewhere and come back to Zappos to give them my business because of the price matching. I've ordered from other shoe places and all except one (lovemyshoes.com) offers fast and good CS. I dont care about overnight shipping. I'll probably continue to buy from other merchants.

Does that mean they'll drop the price of their shoes that used to pay for the "free" overnight?

I'll buy from endless.com.  Overnight shipping is negative $5!

I agree with you Cortney. They always charged more than most other sites and then turned around and tried to make it look like you were getting something for free. I will shop with them only if I can't find something somewhere else cheaper.

They might be. I was stalking one pair of shoes. Every place had them for around $175. Zappos price was $199. Just checked and now they are $169.

I usually only ordered from Zappos if I needed something quickly or couldn't find it anywhere else. The higher prices made me seek out other options but if they keep the free shipping and lower the prices I could actually wind up ordering from there more often.

I am annoyed that anyone started offering overnight shipping. Now it's like they all have to offer it to be competitive. Obviously it's nice, but I don't expect any other store to send me something overnight for free, or pay me $5 for it, let alone something as heavy and as often returned as shoes.
So in short, I don't blame them. At all.
But no price matching and their high prices (maybe partly to cover the obscene cost of overnight shipping- something I don't care about and have to pay for for other people...) is annoying.

I LOVE Zappos and lucky for me, they ship from my state. So I've always gotten all of my packages overnight. Hope that continues!

Well, without perks like that I'll only order from them if they have what I want at the lowest price, like I would with anything else. There's no reason I can see for anyone to stay loyal to Zappos without those things.

I only ever bought from them if they had the best deal, and I'll continue to do that. There are plenty of other places to shop!

probably not. Zappos has gone way downhill over the last few years IMO. They never have amazing deals anymore - in fact I think there way to slow to do markdowns that show up on other sites months earlier.

Sorry zappos .. I am shopping elsewhere.

i'm glad i'm not alone with this.  my last order from zappos was over a year ago and i'm still waiting to find a good deal there.  only if i find something i really love and if they have the best price, will i consider buying from them.
