I'm a teacher and am always looking for comfortable and conservative (and washable!) clothing. I came across this:
I'm wondering if would be cute, or if I would end up looking like I'm wearing a sack with a belt. I liked it because it wasn't low cut, too short, or sleeveless.
I'm afraid I agree. I have a very similar styled dress in a cotton jersey but it has vertical seaming to give it shape and it drapes beautifully. I think you should look for something with a bit more shape and structure for a more feminine silhouette.
I don't think would be a very flattering dress IRL. The sleeves are a weird matronly length, and the dress itself looks pretty shapeless. I bet you could find a cute structured shirtdress that has the look you're after.

I am going to be Devil's Advocate just because I think that woman is shapeless and too skinny and thats why the sleeves look awkward and she has no waistline.
Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
