Dressing for a baby shower?

What would you wear to a baby shower?  I have to go to one, and the only info I have is that it's at someone's house, brunch, and I only know one person there beside the honoree.

I don't want to be too casual, but I don't want to be too precious looking either.  I'm considerably younger than the other guests, and I really don't want to stick out as 'that' girl, ya know?

So off the top of your head, what would you wear?

I like boobaby's idea. I picture a feminine wrap-top with wide-legs and heels or pointy flats.

I agree with everyone else. I'd probably wear boots, a knee-length skirt, and a wrap top or a pretty sweater.

I posted something like this a while ago, because my family typically wears suits to baby showers, which strikes me as odd.  evileye

I'd go with boots and a skirt or a wrap dress, that's probably what I'll wear when I have to go a baby shower in a couple of months.

i would probably go with some wide-leg trousers and a pretty sweater or top and a great pair of heels.

Oh, good!  It makes me feel better that everyone has sort of the same idea - I was afraid I'd waltz in in something and everyone would be in pretty pretty dresses or in jeans and sweaters.  Actually at least some will likely be in jeans and sweaters, so I might dress it down ever so slightly. 

Thank you!  I feel so awkward going to something like this (big group I don't know at all) so at least now I can rest easy knowing what I'm wearing is appropriate!

They'd better not make me take off my shoes bleh.gif.  I HATE that.
