I just finished 'Then We Came to the End," By Joshua Farris, and "The Road," by Cormac McCarthy - they were both excellent.

Sadly I've been on a historical fiction kick lately. It's kind of my reading vice. For some it's chick-lit, for me it's historical fiction, especially salacious his fic. I recently read:

Innocent Traitor: A Novel of Lady Jane Grey

I bought the Tudors on DVD last week to go along with my Tudor mood but I can't watch it until I go to the gym over the weekend. Boo.

I'm currently reading something a little more high-brow. I'm enjoying it so far.

The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye totally excellent
The Last Camel Died At Noon first in a series by Elizabeth Peters.. murder mysteries set in the 1800s in Egypt.. good for people who like historical fiction, but also appeals to people who simply like witty, sharp writing :)

Good to know! It's next on my reading list. I read "The Kite Runner" and really liked it, but found a fair amount of it really predictable. I hope I like "ATSS" a bit more.

Are you sure you don't mean "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult, not Kristen Hannah? That is an amazing book...I love all of Jodi Picoult's books. It's being made into a movie...it's coming out next year. I just finished Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult...great book too.

I've read A Thousand Splendid Suns, and its a ripoff of Shauna Singh Baldwin's book, What the Body Remembers, that came out one or two years earlier. I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I was appalled.
