Help! I want to make hummus using a recipe that I found, but it calls for putting the ingredients in a food processor. Does anyone know if using a blender will work just as well? I am not about to go out and buy a food processor just to make some hummus if ya know what I mean.

I use both. I prefer the blender for texture, but if I'm in a hurry I use the FP instead.
With my blender, which apparently sucks, I have to do very small batches in order for it to work, so I have to divide up the ingredients, blend, then mix the separate batches together in a bowl by hand and hope the lemon and garlic gets distributed decently.

I've always used a food processor for hummus...my grandmother, who is palestinian, has gone through many of blenders making hummus but she's had her cuisanart for 20 years without any problems.
If you are just making hummus once every blue moon I bet either would work.
