My wedding is about 7 months away and I'm trying to book a photographer and they are ALL booked. I'm having a really hard time finding someone. I thought 6-7 months out would be plenty of time, but I guess I was wrong.

I'm just curious how far out you married/engaged girls booked your photographer?

Any advice on how to find one at this point?

We booked almost a year and a half out hmm.gif. 

If you haven't already, google Your city + weddings and see what comes up.  I'd be suprised if you didn't have a local wedding website or two, which is a good way to find local vendors.  I'd also ask your other vendors if they have any suggestions for people they've worked with before, as well as asking your favorite photographers who they might suggest if they're already booked.  The Knot might have some local people to check out as well.

My sister found hers at theknot.com...and she planned her wedding in six months. Have you already checked there?

I booked mine about a year ahead of time, I found my photographer on theknot.com as well. I'd also try craigslist

I had better luck today and found two that are still available and I am meeting with one tonight and if everything goes smoothly during the meeting, I am going to sign the contract and pay the deposit so I don't have to worry about this any more.

I'm just mad at myself that I didn't realize to book earlier. I hate wedding planning!!!!!!!!!!

Great, Kitty!  I really hope one of them works out for you.

I feel ya babe.  By the time our actual wedding rolled around, I was calling everything related to the wedding "Wedding Crap".  What's in that box over there?  Wedding Crap.  What are you doing today?  Wedding Crap.  What's that check for?  Wedding Crap.  Seriously, I was sooooo over it.

It will all be over before you know it, and you'll have great pictures to prove it!  And probably a box of wedding crap in the corner that will seem to follow you forever, begging to be sorted through ....

Thanks! I just want to book this guy so i don't have to think about this for one more second.

I am so over wedding planning! My wedding was supposed to be super simple, relaxed, low-key, and it's still quite a hassle!!

I booked mine a year in advance. But I'm a little OCD and had all my vendors booked a year before the wedding.

Congratulations! I booked ours about 10 months in advance. But I would think 6-8 months would still be fine. Depends on how "in demand" that photog is though.
