I'm just curious if you guys have a "signature" piece or style. Until early college, I wore the same necklaces every. single. day. Then I went without for a couple years, and a couple months ago my grandma gave me a diamond ring of hers that I fell in love with, and now I wear it 24/7 except when I'm in the shower. I've forgotten to put it back on after my shower a couple times, and I feel so unnatural and uncomfortable without it -almost like it's a part of me.
Anyway, thinking about this got me curious how many other people have something like this! Poll time!

I have a signature style in that I always choose classic over trendy. I choose elegant over daring. I like saturated colors, timeless silhouettes, and rich leather for my accessories (boots & bags).
And I have loved jewelry since I was a little girl, so I never leave the house without jewelry on, whether its my own design or someone else's.

I bought a small pewter St. Christopher medal when I was at the Vatican last year. I put it on a 16-inch silver chain, and I haven't gone without it since.

Jewelry-wise, I wear the same items almost all the time which consists of my very simple round solitaire diamond wedding ring/band, Tiffany graduated bead sterling necklace and matching bead bracelet. Sometimes I throw on diamond stud earrings but otherwise that's it. I find myself wearing this combo all the time.
Clothing-wise, my style is also classic. For work, I'm usually in long, tailored dress pants with sweater sets, wrap tops or button-downs. Occasionally I'll do a-line skirts with tall boots. I like trench coats, or my Burberry wrap for fall. For weekends I like wide-leg jeans, wedges or platforms, and simple tops or sweaters.
Other things I always stick to: Swiss Army watches Heels of any kind (I'm always in some kind of heels) Banana Republic v-neck sweaters/cardigans Leather bags
I recently received a pair of gold earrings from my MIL. She used to wear them when she was younger. But, because they were given to her by someone who caused her pain in her life, she decided to let them go... I love them. They're unique, eye-catching, and fun. I've been wearing them quite a bit lately. My husband was a bit weirded out at first, but he got over it.
I don't have a specific piece that I wear all the time, but my signature is a pair of 4" heeled shoes. My co-workers literally fall out of their chairs when they realize how short I am when they see me w/o my shoes. It drives my husband crazy, he says 'casual' doesn't include a pair of 4" wedges.
Definitely my eclectic collection of rings I've picked up while travelling. I get comments on them all the time and everyone who sees me on a regular basis always checks out which ring I'm wearing.

Same here. My signature is my 3.5 - 4 inch heels. The other day I had on a pair of flats, and my husband happened to look down at my feet and, very seriously, said, "You own flats?!?" My students have asked me how I walk in them every day and I tell them practice makes perfect.

I've tried to purge all these fixations, actually.
Up until last year it was black - not head to toe, but usually something black, and other than casual sandals, only black shoes/bags/belts. Then I bought a pair of brown pumps and brown boots last year and got into a phase of trying to wear more browns. I like the boots but I'm already kinda over brown. I don't think I'll ever buy anything brown again.
I wore an ex-BF's cross pendant for five months while he was away on tour when I was in my 20s (he was a musician).
I wore a pendant with a Tibetan Buddhist symbol called an endless knot every day for several years when I worked in the clothing business. It was supposed to protect me from materialism. If it didn't match my outfit, I looped it around my bra strap and wore it under my clothes. Seriously.
I've always been into black cake eyeliner, but over the years I've started wearing less and less makeup, so that's no longer a "thing."
Ditto hoop earrings. Big or tiny, but always hoops. Now I hardly ever wear earrings at all.
I suppose I have a signature of odd watches, which I wear on my right hand (the "wrong" hand based on being right-handed). I just love watches, the funkier the better. I have about 20 of them and I'll rarely leave the house without a watch.
In the winter I wear black berets, like, way WAY too much. It's the political radical in me.
I almost always wear the same pair of large pearl earrings.
I have a pair of pink plastic framed Juicy Couture sunglasses that I wear year round. I've never seen anyone else in them and my fiance calls them my Elton John glasses.
My favorite color is fuchsia/magenta and I have many pieces of clothing in that color. My family and friends refer to it as "my color."
I have a cameo from Florence that I'm wearing all the time now (just got back from Italy a couple of weeks ago). Other than that, I wear my diamond earring studs all the time (even in the shower).
Style:
My best friend describes my style as "california lady." Lots of nanette lepore, ella moss dresses, etc.
p.s.
You know what I don't have though? A signature scent. I wear Lovely (by SJP) but also Cinema (by YSL) and I just smelled Kelly Caleche (by Hermes), which I really like too. So basically, I guess I don't have a signature scent. :P

I didn't even think about signature scents! I have been wearing VS's Dream Angel's "Heavenly" perfume since it came out. I hate that it's so mainstream (I'd like better insurance that I won't smell like all the girls walking down the street) but I love it and always get compliments on it. It was a super big deal for me the day I accepted a small sample bottle of Bath and Body Works' "Sweet Pea." I like it, but it feels like I'm cheating or lying when I put it on. I either put it on with people I'll never see again or with people who see me all the time (so I can "erase" that scent from their memory quickly). I even bought scented sachets from VS with the same scent that I keep in my underwear baskets (on the floor of my closet) so my room and clothes smell like me.
I know. I'm a little crazy about it.

ooooh...this is me too. I actually wore flats one day when I wasn't feeling great and one of my corworkers truned around really quickly righ next to me. He kind of looked dow, started CRACKING UP and says "wow. now I know why you're always in heels."
I think my signature is probably that I wear a necklace almost every day. I'm really partial to three strand necklaces - my coral beads from Turq were the best purchase I ever made in terms of cost per wear. The rest of my jewelry is pretty simple - just my wedding band, engagement ring and a stainless steel watch.
